WASHINGTON, DC: James Comey, the former Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), sparked a wave of criticism and outrage on social media after predicting a potential second term for former President Donald Trump would pose a "danger for all Americans."

Comey, who was fired by Trump in 2017, appeared on MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' and urged viewers to vote for President Joe Biden in the 2024 election, regardless of their opinions about the incumbent, as reported by Blaze Media.

Speaking to MSNBC's Alex Wagner, Comey stressed the importance of Biden's re-election, citing the severe consequences of a second term for Trump. "I don't care how you feel about Joe Biden, you must vote for him, because the consequences on the other side are too severe," Comey declared.

He warned that "Trump is coming" for the Justice Department and FBI, alleging that Trump regrets not having "worked hard enough to corrupt them last time."

Emphasizing the stakes, Comey stated, "He is a threat to the rule of law in America. To me, that's what this election is about, not about policy differences."

Comey's skepticism about Trump is longstanding. Throughout the 2020 election, Comey openly endorsed Biden, advocating for a president dedicated to upholding the rule of law.

In an August 2020 opinion piece, he stated, "We need a president who has devoted his life to serving others through the rule of law. We need to elect Joe Biden."

On the day of the 2020 presidential election, James Comey publicly endorsed the Biden-Harris ticket by posting a picture on social media. The image showed him wearing a t-shirt and holding a mug bearing the names of the Democratic candidates.

The image was captioned with the words "Vote for your country," making his stance on the election overtly clear.

Comey also recently suggested that Trump is likely to be convicted on charges related to falsifying financial records to cover up hush money payments.

"I've tried a lot of cases, so it is dangerous to talk about them when you haven't been in the courtroom for every moment," Comey commented during his recent MSNBC appearance.

However, he noted, "This seems to have gone very well, built brick-by-brick in a way that's not cross-examinable, with documents and texts and the defendant's own voice – much better than I expected. I told my family, from the outside, I would think this is a very high likelihood of conviction, less likely of a hung jury, approaching zero for an acquittal."
