Jill Biden says she is scared of living without Joe Biden
Jill Biden, who is 75 years old and around 10 years younger than Joe Biden, opened up about the emotional journey that she and her husband are on after the detection of a deadly disease last year.
Jill Biden expressed her efforts to ward off negative or unproductive thoughts.
“We can’t look at life that way... We look at it like, ‘Joe has cancer. He’s gonna die, so let’s make the most of every moment,’” the former president's wife said.
“Of course I’m scared,” she stated. “I mean, first of all, he’s almost 10 years older than I am. And with an illness ... you kinda can’t let your head go there.”
“It’s like, you can’t imagine life without them. But you know they’re going to die, just like I know I’m going to die,” she said, adding, “So part of it, you accept.”
Jill Biden says Joe is showing remarkable strength
Jill Biden talked about her husband’s resilience during the tough time, saying Joe has shown remarkable strength after his cancer detection.
She noted that Joe Biden has not shared his fears with her, and she doesn’t even expect him to do so.
"He has always been the strength of our family," she stated.
Jill Biden highlighted that while this time period is challenging for the couple and the family, they both are committed to valuing the time they have left together instead of focusing on the difficult part.
“Let’s be together ... let’s find things that bring us joy. Let’s make this a positive journey — I mean, not a negative journey, because how can you live with that every day?” she added. “You can’t. It’s too heavy.”
Prostate cancer originates in the prostate gland, which is a component of the male reproductive system. It typically develops at a slow pace, and many individuals may not require immediate treatment.
However, certain forms can proliferate rapidly and are more challenging to manage.
