WASHINGTON, DC: New York congresswoman Claudia Tenney has introduced a bill to declare President Donald Trump's birthday a federal holiday in honor of him as "the founder of America's Golden Age".

Congresswoman Tenney proposed the celebratory proclamation in a news release on Friday, February 14, naming it the Trump’s Birthday and Flag Day Holiday Establishment Act.

Tenney's press release stated: "This legislation would permanently codify a new federal holiday called 'Trump’s Birthday and Flag Day' on June 14 to honor this historic day," per the Independent.

Republican US Representative Claudia Tenney, who has referred to Donald Trump as "the most consequential President in modern American history," said she has introduced legislation to combine the current annual Flag Day celebration with the president's birthday into a new joint holiday to be observed on June 14.

"From brokering the historic Abraham Accords to championing the largest tax relief package in American history, his impact on the nation is undeniable," the Finger Lakes region Republican said in a statement.

Tenney's recently suggested annual celebration, known as Flag Day, should fall on the anniversary of the Stars and Stripes becoming the official flag of the United States in 1777.

"Just as George Washington’s Birthday is codified as a federal holiday, this bill will add Trump’s Birthday to this list, recognizing him as the founder of America’s Golden Age," Tenney added.

Her statement continued: "By designating Trump’s Birthday and Flag Day as a federal holiday, we can ensure President Trump’s contributions to American greatness and the importance of the American Flag are forever enshrined into law."

"No modern president has been more pivotal for our country than Donald J Trump. As both our 45th and 47th President, he is the most consequential President in modern American history," Tenney said in support of Trump's request for a day of his own.

President Woodrow Wilson declared June 14 to be the day to honor the Stars and Stripes in 1916, and it has been observed as Flag Day since then.

The holiday was formally established in August 1949 by a congressional statute. Tenney said that since Trump was born on June 14, 1946, the date was a logical choice for a new combination holiday, per the New York Post.

This bill is one of many bills that support President Trump. These include the idea of putting the president's face on $500 bills, allowing him to run for a third term, and carving his face into Mount Rushmore, per the Daily Beast.

Internet slams Claudia Tenney for not 'focusing on actual priorities'

People took to X (formerly Twitter) to condemn Congresswoman Claudia Tenney's act of introducing a "people pleasing" bill to declare President Trump's birthday a federal holiday.

One X user wrote, "Good grief, shake yourself woman! Focus on legislation that will enhance American lives. This is trivial grandstanding and people pleasing. Legislate executive orders, lower spending, give Americans a tax break, something???"

A second user added, "Don't be stupid. I'm one of your constituents and this is a waste of time. This issue should come up only after he dies. Try focusing on actual priorities."

"That has to be the most hilarious thing I've ever heard. Since Trump took over again, this age is a rusty one that's falling apart fast. A federal holiday for your boy Donny? No thank you!" exclaimed one user, followed by #TrumpisaNationalDisgrace #trumpisafascist #TrumpIsAConvictedFelon

"Okay. I like you fine Congressman but Quit wasting time with that now. Get to work on spending cuts overall, spending increases on border security, and extending/expanding Trump tax cuts. Get back to work now. Help @POTUS get his policies passed; the honorifics will pass easily," another suggested.

One user snarked, "Beyond ludicrous," while another added, "They offered Mr. Washington a throne, a crown, and he refused. So, who are you comparing Mr. Trump to?"

"Performative and a waste of time. Insults and cheapens the memories and achievements of the *actual* Founding Fathers," slammed another.

One user wrote, "Claudia Tenney is giving Marjorie Taylor Greene a run for her money in the race to be the most cultish member of Congress. A federal holiday for Trump’s birthday? This isn’t patriotism—it’s absurd, embarrassing, and pure authoritarian worship."
