Greg Gutfeld blames Democrats' rhetoric for Minnesota ICE shooting
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA: Fox News host Greg Gutfeld sharply criticized Democrats and left-wing activists while reacting to the fatal shooting of a woman during an ICE operation in Minnesota, arguing that escalating rhetoric has encouraged dangerous and unlawful confrontations with law enforcement.
Speaking on 'The Five' after the incident on Wednesday, January 7, Gutfeld questioned how a routine enforcement operation spiraled into a fatal encounter and placed blame squarely on what he described as sustained political agitation from the left.

Greg Gutfeld questions why civilians aggressively confront law enforcement
During the segment, Gutfeld focused on the personal circumstances of the woman who was killed, expressing disbelief that someone with family responsibilities would repeatedly place herself in volatile situations involving federal officers.
“Why would a mother of a young child, a widow, consistently participate in aggressive confrontations with law enforcement?” Gutfeld asked. "Why did she feel emboldened to break the law in an endless theatre of chaos, swept up in the latest demonization narrative that eggs on illegal and stupid behavior?"
He argued that the broader culture surrounding immigration protests has normalized confrontational tactics that carry serious consequences, especially when federal officers are involved. Gutfeld said the shooting itself can and should be investigated but insisted that the confrontation never should have occurred in the first place.
Greg Gutfeld blames Democratic rhetoric for fatal escalation
Gutfeld accused Democratic leaders and progressive activists of encouraging behavior that he described as reckless and illegal, saying their language has fueled direct interference with federal agents.
“You can investigate the shooting, have at it,” he said. “But it never would have happened if the situation hadn’t presented itself, and that is on the Democrats who willed it into being with rhetoric."
He went on to compare the amplification of anti-law-enforcement sentiment to other violent incidents involving public figures.
“The same kind of amplification of demonization that got Charlie Kirk killed, and Donald Trump shot,” Gutfeld added.
His remarks came as political tensions remain high following the Trump administration’s aggressive immigration enforcement push across major cities.
What happened during the Minneapolis ICE operation
The fatal incident unfolded on Wednesday during a federal immigration crackdown targeting the Twin Cities. According to Department of Homeland Security officials, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers were conducting operations in a residential neighborhood south of downtown Minneapolis when they encountered multiple civilians obstructing their movement.

DHS later identified the woman who was shot as Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old Twin Cities resident. Officials said she was sitting inside her SUV when agents attempted to move through the area.
According to DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin, Nicole Good was among several individuals who allegedly used their vehicles to block the road in an effort to stop ICE agents from advancing.
McLaughlin said the officer discharged his weapon after the motorist allegedly “tried to run over law enforcement officers” during the encounter.
