While the interaction appeared lighthearted, Greg Gutfeld didn’t hold back in mocking Jesse Watters, even going as far as claiming that producers had once attempted to remove him from the panel.

In the Instagram video, Gutfeld begins by saying, "It's Greg Gutfeld. I'm getting ready to go do 'The Five'. You know what he says he's doing?" while pointing toward Watters, who can be seen calmly eating a salad.

Mocking his co-host, Gutfeld continues, "He's eating a salad because he's a wimp. He's a loser. He's a nobody."

He continues, "Look at him. Look at him. Listen to him," even as Watters seems unfazed by the attention.

He then tries to question Watters, asking, "Who are you talking about? What are you trying to do?" but receives no response.

Despite the silence from Watters, Gutfeld continues the banter, saying, "He's embarrassing. I don't know why he's still here. We tried to get rid of him," before wrapping the video with a cheeky, "Anyway. Enjoy the show."

The clip was posted with the caption, "@realgreggutfeld shows you what @jessewatters does before the show," and quickly gained attention from fans who found the segment entertaining.

Jesse Watters and Jessica Tarlov clash over Democrats’ 2026 election prospects

Earlier in the week, Jesse Watters found himself in a heated debate with co-host Jessica Tarlov over the Democratic Party’s potential for 2026.

Gutfeld initiated the conversation by asking where the Democrats’ “bucketload” of talent was. Jessica Tarlov replied, “The bench is in plain sight, you just don't want to acknowledge it.”

Gutfeld pressed again, “Where is it?” prompting Tarlov to say, “It's Andy Beshear.” Before she could finish, Watters interrupted, saying, “Andy Beshear? Oh, did he speak at the convention in Chicago? He didn't speak. Did they say anything that anybody remembers at Chicago's convention?”

Frustrated, Tarlov fired back, “Are you kidding me? Just talk about being in the wilderness. We'll get it together. I would like to bring out some winners from your bucket, though your bench. Carrie Lake, Mark Robinson, and Doug Mastriano were floating, going against Josh Shapiro again, which won't end well for him."

She continued, “And they're freaking out in Texas about Ken Paxton winning this primary, because he's not going to be able to do as well in a general election as John Cornyn. What do you say to that? How's your bench?”

Watters responded confidently, saying, “I like our starting five, I like Rubio, Hegseth, Vance, and Noem. You don't even have a starting five,” to which Tarlov countered, “Yeah we do!” Watters concluded, “No you don't, you're talking about your bench you guys can't even get into warm-ups.”

Internet reacts to Greg Gutfeld taking a dig at Jesse Watters

Fans online quickly weighed in on Greg Gutfeld’s video and the fiery exchanges on the show.

“Your hilarious Greg Gutfeld 🤣! Talking s**t about Jesse and eating his salad. 😂,” one user wrote under the Instagram post.

Another added, “Instead of asking yourself why Jesse's still there you need to ask yourself why is Jessica still there.”

A person chimed in, “Jesse knows how to handle the situation.”

One commented on the show's chemistry, saying, “The vibe of today's show is so fun. I wonder what has changed?” with someone else writing, “Love you Greg...but hate how you treat Jessie ❤️.”
