WASHINGTON, DC: Kamala Harris’ billionaire backer Mark Cuban graciously accepted Donald Trump as the winner of the 2024 presidential race.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the 'Shark Tank' judge, who has had an acrimonious relationship with the Republican Party, congratulated the 78-year-old former president for winning the election "fair and square," as per The Daily Beast.

The Associated Press called the race for the GOP nominee after declaring his win in Wisconsin, as he cleared the 270 electoral votes needed to win back the White House.

Mark Cuban congratulates Donald Trump for winning the 2024 election

In his post, Mark Cuban offered the olive branch to the Republican candidate, writing, "Congrats @realDonaldTrump. You won fair and square."

He added, "Congrats to @elonmusk as well. #Godspeed," referencing Elon Musk, the owner of X and a major Trump ally. The tweet has since then garnered over 317,000 likes and 30,000 comments.

Just a few days Cuban sparked controversy after he controversially said the MAGA spearhead did not surround himself with strong women during his appearance on 'The View'.

The 66-year-old, who has been one of Harris' fiercest advocates this election cycle, said, "Donald Trump, you never see him around strong, intelligent women. Ever. It’s just that simple. They’re intimidating to him."

"He doesn’t like to be challenged by them and, you know, Nikki Haley will call him on his nonsense with reproductive rights and how he sees and treats and talks about women. I mean, he just can’t have her around. It wouldn’t work," added Cuban, as per Fortune.

His remarks were in response to a question on the probable reasons Trump did not ask for former presidential candidate Nikki Haley's help during his election campaign.

Cuban faced backlash from female MAGA supporters such as Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lara Trump. In a Truth Social post, the ex-POTUS called him a "dumb guy, who thinks he's 'hot stuff but he's absolutely nothing."

Trump further wrote, "He is very wrong, I surround myself with the strongest of women - With the understanding that ALL women are great, whether strong or not strong."

Cuban later apologized for his "strong woman" remark in an X post, writing, "When I said this during the interview, I didn't get it out exactly the way I thought I did. So I apologize to anyone who felt slighted or upset by my response. As I said, it wasn't about trump voters, supporters or employees Current or former."

He added, "And, I set myself up for the 6 sec soundbite. No excuses. Can't nail every interview. My skin is thick enough."

Internet reminds him of his 'wrong choice' after Mark Cuban congratulates Donald Trump

Mark Cuban's gracious words elicited a number of responses from social media users, especially Donald Trump's supporters who took it upon themselves to remind him that he picked the wrong side.

One commented, "Thank you for calling women garbage. Your efforts did not go unnoticed. We are grateful!" referring to his "strong woman" remark.

Another wondered, "I know you’re speaking in a personal capacity and not conceding on behalf of Kamala, right?" "Bro you campaigned for the wrong team," said a person.

An individual declared, "YOU CHOSE POORLY." One more expressed, "You lost like 90% of your aura from this election."

Someone else asked, "What are you gonna do now, Mark?" with another person saying, "I don’t think they are going to invite you to sit at the table, brotha."

"Class act, Mark. There’s still room for you on the Trump train!" quipped a Trump supporter.

"Thanks for your help in the final week, Mark. Youre comment about the women that support trump really helped during crunch time!" added a netizen, referencing his controversial remarks.

One joked, "Sounds like an apology to me!" while another jested, "Picking the winning horse after the race much???"

"Wisest thing you’ve said in weeks. Thank you for sharing," remarked a netizen.
