However, as the campaign basked in the light-hearted success of the new merchandise, a darker chapter from Emhoff's past resurfaced.

The Daily Mail published a report claiming that the second gentleman had an affair with Najen Naylor, the nanny of his children, and even got her pregnant during his first marriage to film producer Kerstin Emhoff.

According to the outlet, several friends with knowledge of the situation confirmed these details, though they did not provide additional information.

Naylor, who was working as a teacher at the Willows Community School in Culver City, California, at the time, reportedly stated that she was "kind of freaked out right now" when approached for comment.

In response to the allegations, the second gentleman acknowledged the affair in a statement to CNN.

He said, "During my first marriage, Kerstin and I went through some tough times on account of my actions. I took responsibility, and in the years since, we worked through things as a family and have come out stronger on the other side."

However, Emhoff did not address the claim regarding Naylor's pregnancy.
