Harris likely to appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast in bid to woo male voters but Internet calls it ‘too late’
AUSTIN, TEXAS: Vice President and Democratic presdiential nominee Kamala Harris sparked mockery on social media after news broke that she may make a surprise appearance on Joe Rogan’s popular podcast 'The Joe Rogan Experience', in an effort to bolster her appeal among male voters, especially younger men, sources disclosed on Monday, October 14.
Representatives from Harris' campaign team have recently held a meeting with Rogan's team. However, an interview has not yet been confirmed, as per two sources acquainted with the matter, The Tribune reported.
Kamala Harris seeks to expand her appeal in a competitive election landscape
Joe Rogan, the host of the popular podcast 'The Joe Rogan Experience' commands a dedicated following that numbers in tens of millions.
The prospective interview will offer Kamala Harris an opportunity to engage with her audience, especially as she aims to garner support from male voters, including Black men. Public polls indicate that Republican candidate Donald Trump may have strong performance among young male voters of all racial demographics.
On Monday, October 14, Harris revealed a series of policy proposals targeting Black male voters, intensifying her campaign's efforts to engage with this traditionally Democratic-leaning demographic.
Additionally, her team has scheduled an interview with Fox News, a channel often recognized for its conservative commentary and support for Trump.
Kamala Harris and Donald Trump eye Joe Rogan podcast appearances
Meanwhile, Donald Trump has expressed his intention to feature on Joe Rogan's podcast prior to Election Day. Despite previous conflicts, Trump has recently described Rogan as a "good guy," following his earlier criticism on Truth Social in August.
In 2022, Joe Rogan clarified that he did not support Trump and, in August, he had voiced his preference for Robert F Kennedy Jr for president. However, Kennedy later withdrew from the race and endorsed Trump.
In the 2024 presidential campaign, Rogan has offered praise for Harris and critiqued Trump. In September, he commended Harris and her campaign team following her face-off with Trump in the September 10 presidential debate.
"Whoever is helping her, whoever's coaching her, whoever's the puppet master running the strings … amazing job! They did an amazing job—from the moment Biden drops out," Rogan told guest Tom Segura.
Later that month, he mentioned on his podcast that a potential administration led by Harris and her vice-presidential candidate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, might lead to a "clampdown" on online free speech.
