WASHINGTON, DC: Liberal political commentator Harry Sisson called out President Donald Trump over his silence regarding updates on a missing US service member in Iran on Sunday, April 5. His remarks came after reports that an F‑15E fighter jet was downed over Iran as the conflict in the region continued to expand.

The United States and Israel had earlier launched joint strikes on February 28 targeting Iran’s political and military establishments following failed nuclear negotiations. Iran has repeatedly targeted US military assets, along with civilian and strategic infrastructure in neighboring countries, since the conflict began.

Harry Sisson questions Trump’s priorities and Iran strategy

Sisson posted on X, questioning Trump’s response to the situation.

Sisson gained attention when Trump reshared an AI-generated video on Truth Social portraying himself as “King Trump,” flying a plane, and dumping feces on protestors at a 'No Kings' rally. One prominent attendee in the video was Sisson, who said, “When he first watched the video, he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.”

A vocal critic of the Trump administration and its approach to the Iran war, Sisson has repeatedly posted on X challenging policy decisions. In one post, he wrote, “Trump wants to cut food assistance and funding for low-income Americans to pay for their utilities in order to fund his war in Iran. MAGA, is this the golden age???”

In another post, he criticized Trump’s rhetoric and broader political decisions on Iran, stating, “One day Trump says he doesn’t want regime change in Iran, the next day he says he does. He has no idea what he’s doing and no idea what the goals of this war are. What an idiot.”

Sisson has also questioned Trump’s health, referencing recent medical developments: “There is something wrong with Trump. In less than a year, he’s had an MRI scan, two ‘annual’ physicals, a cognitive exam, face drooping, swollen ankles, hand bruising, disappeared for a week, looks lost in videos. This doesn’t scream healthy to me.”

Trump announces rescue operations as Iran tensions escalate

The US rescued an airman whose F-15 jet was downed in Iran, two US officials told Reuters late Saturday, April 4, 2026. The rescued airman was the second member of a two-person crew after Iran claimed it had brought down the aircraft using its air defenses.

Trump later confirmed that the second crew member was “SAFE and SOUND,” adding that the individual sustained injuries but would recover. In a detailed post on Truth Social, he described the mission as “one of the most daring Search and Rescue Operations in US history,” stating that the crew member, a highly respected colonel, had been rescued from behind enemy lines in Iran’s mountainous terrain.

He further stated that dozens of aircraft equipped with advanced weaponry were deployed for the operation and emphasized that both rescue missions were completed without any American casualties. Trump added that the success of the missions demonstrated “overwhelming air dominance and superiority over the Iranian skies,” calling it a moment for national unity.

Amid escalating tensions, a senior Israeli defense official indicated that Israel was preparing potential strikes on Iranian energy facilities, pending US approval, possibly within the next week. This followed Trump’s ultimatum to Iran regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran, meanwhile, warned that further escalation would turn the “entire region” into “a hell,” according to state media. Following a fourth attack near the Bushehr power plant, Iran’s foreign minister warned the United Nations of an “intolerable situation” posing risks of radiological release.
