NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican congresswoman from Georgia, has once again sparked controversy with her recent remarks targeting the Democratic Party.

In fiery statement made to Fox News, Greene accused Democrats of being "straight up Communists" and alleged widespread abuse of power, including the surveillance of conservatives on social media and through bank transactions.

Greene accuses democrats of communist tactics amidst financial surveillance allegations

Greene wrote in her X/Twitter post, "The Democrats are straight up Communists! They have abused their power and spied on conservatives on social media and through bank transactions all for political reasons. We need accountability and a Republican party that’s willing to bring it!".

Her comments come after according to a letter obtained by Fox News Digital, the Biden administration has confirmed that terms like "MAGA," "Trump," and "Kamala" were part of the request made by federal investigators to banks to monitor private financial transactions following the January 6, 2021 protests at the US Capitol.

The letter, sent from the Treasury Department to Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), who chairs the Senate Banking Committee, explains that "Exchange events" organized by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) began shortly after January 6 during the prior administration.

These events included terms such as "antifa," "MAGA," "Trump," "Biden," "Kamala," "Schumer," and "Pelosi."

Greene's assertion that Democrats are "straight up Communists" reflects a longstanding narrative within conservative circles, painting the opposing party as embracing socialist or leftist ideologies.

Netizens heavcriticize Greene's comments on communism

Conversely, Greene's remarks were met with disapproval from netizens, with many expressing their opposing views in the comments section of her post.

A post on X read, "@RepMTG I really hope a reporter corners you one day and asks you to explain what a Communist is. I'd bet a dollar you wouldn't have a clue".

"It didn’t take long for Marjorie Taylor Greene to switch from ogling Hunter Biden’s pe**s to the ‘All Democrats are Communists’ conspiracy theory," tweeted another user.

Another said, "Now do you feel bad for giving Joe Biden A 2 year unlimited debt ceiling? Inflation now is because of you, Massie and Jordan."

"Marge who’s your next impeachment target?" one mocked her.

One user said, "What does any of that have to do with communism?".

"Help me out here…aren’t you the Republican Party?" asked another.

A tweet read, "All I can see with your posts is wah wah wah wah… yack yack yack yack. Why don’t you actually do something about it?"

"Marjorie, you really should have had the most basic education before running for congress," another user said.

"2021? Emails? Stop living in the past. It’s an election year. What have you done to uphold the constitution lately?" one concluded.
