NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Chris Christie revealed what it feels like to work for former President Donald Trump as he appeared on the February 8 episode of 'The View'.

The former Governor of New Jersey also voiced his fear about the new group of staff who might surround Trump if he gets re-elected to the White House in 2024, saying that there may be no one to oppose "his crazy ideas".

Experience of working with Donald Trump

According to Christie, Trump makes everyone feel special when they start working for him, but that fades away swiftly once he is opposed in any way.

"When you walk in, you're traded a hundred cents on the dollar," he explained. "You're the greatest thing, the best person he (Trump) has ever hired, the most wonderful person in the world..."

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, who had worked in Trump's White House, backed his claims saying that she had a tweet from him saying that she was "awesome".

The two had since fallen out after Griffin resigned in 2020 when Trump claimed election fraud.

"And you will trade to zero," continued Christie, "The only question is how long it will take ... So if you are a good, smart person, Republican or Democrat or Independent in the country, and Donald Trump calls you and asks you to do a job, why would you ever do it?"

Anyone rarely puts their party ahead of their personal interest, said the politician.

"Everyone has to have a career after they leave the government, and if (Trump) kicks the crap out of you on your way out of the door and makes you look like you're an imbecile, well then it doesn't help..."

Donald Trump may go uncriticized at the White House

On the topic of who would serve in a probable second Trump presidency, "only yes-people," said Christie.

"Only people who would just look at him and say, 'Yes Sir, you can do whatever you want,' 'Yes Sir, that's permissible'."

"And you think about how crazy the first term was when he had really smart, competent people around him, who pushed back really hard against him and stopped him...from doing things that either some of the crazy people in his administration were suggesting he do, or were his own crazy ideas. There won't be anybody there to do that (now)."

Trump was scared of screwing up when he was voted into the White House for the first time, but he "will have no such fears this time," he added.
