Rosie O’Donnell fears 'The View' may be canceled for not aligning with Trumpism: 'Truth is dangerous now’

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rosie O'Donnell has voiced fears that 'The View' may soon be quietly canceled due to mounting political pressure and allegations of a liberal bias.
In a TikTok video posted Wednesday, August 6, the former co-host warned ABC may be preparing to axe the popular daytime show, despite public reassurances that it's here to stay.
Currently on summer break, 'The View' is scheduled to return for its 29th season in September with returning hosts Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Ana Navarro, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

ABC ‘reviewing bias’ is code for cancellation, says Rosie O’Donnell
O’Donnell, who previously co-hosted 'The View' during seasons 10 and 18 (2006–07 and 2014–15), said in a TikTok video that ABC is “reviewing the liberal bias” on the talk show, which she believes is a veiled attempt to shut it down.
“You know what I just read today? ABC is 'reviewing the liberal bias' on The View,” she said. “The show with five women speaking their own opinions. That's the threat now. They say they're not canceling it, they're just 'reviewing the bias,' which is code for, we're gonna cancel it, we're just trying to soften you up first.”

Now 63 and living in Ireland, O’Donnell expanded on the statement in the same video, warning that this isn’t about media fairness but political control.
“This isn't about bias, this is about obedience. This is about removing any program that doesn't align with Trumpism, soft fascism in full lashes with commercial breaks.”
Rosie O’Donnell says Trump wants to silence dissenting voices
O’Donnell claimed that the pressure on 'The View' is part of Trump’s broader campaign against free speech and dissent, particularly when it comes from women.
“Because it's not enough to run the country into the ground, you have to control what people SEE, what they HEAR, what they think,” she said. “And The View? Well, that's a little too much woman, a little too much truth, a little too much Joy Behar saying, ‘I don't think the insurrection was a tourist visit, Karen.’”

She argued that censoring programs like 'The View' under the pretense of “balance” is actually an attempt to silence uncomfortable truths.
“Apparently, the truth is dangerous now,” O’Donnell said. “They say they want ‘balance,’ but what they mean is silence. Silence anything that doesn't praise the orange messiah and his golden escalator of lies.”
In a powerful closing message, O’Donnell urged her viewers not to shrink themselves in response to intimidation, “We do not make ourselves smaller, so they can feel more comfortable. We speak louder. We take up space… Because the most dangerous sound in the world is a woman who knows what she's talking about, and refuses to stop.”
Trump allies and FCC have also taken aim at 'The View'
'The View' has recently come under increasing fire from both political insiders and media critics. Co-host Ana Navarro sparked backlash after criticizing the spectacle surrounding Florida's immigration detention centers.
The controversy didn’t end there. Fellow co-host Joy Behar also drew the administration’s ire after she unfavorably compared Trump to Barack Obama.

Responding to Behar’s comments, White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers dismissed her as an “irrelevant loser” and suggested that 'The View' might soon be pulled off the air, according to a report by Express US.
Adding to the mounting criticism, FCC Chair Brendan Carr warned that the show’s overt political bias could have serious repercussions. Carr hinted at possible regulatory action, citing what he described as a clear and consistent partisan slant in 'The View’s programming.
