NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Chris Christie got into an argument with co-host Joy Behar over the chances of incumbent President Joe Biden getting re-elected during the February 8 episode of 'The View'.

While the Republican acknowledged Biden to have been an 'effective' politician in the past, he claimed that it was not the case any longer.

Joy Behar's testimony in support of President Biden

The co-host listed out her points as reasons why Biden should be counted as a strong contender for the 2024 presidential elections.

"Let me just say that the economy and jobs report keeps exceeding expectations right now, people should know this," she began. "Stock market (is) at an all-time high."

"He (Biden) has expanded the healthcare benefits, he has lowered the cost of insulin ... for seniors..." she continued, as co-host Sunny Hostin reminded her of student loan debts. Behar gladly picked it up, saying that Biden had "got rid of that, a lot of it."

"But the current GOP is focused on impeaching Homeland Security guy (Sec) Mayorkas, who did not rise to crimes and misdemeanors, and they are talking about impeaching him - that's how lame they are. They wasted millions of dollars on their Hunter Biden obsession," she went on.

Claiming that she was 81 herself, the same age as Biden, Behar enquired of Christie, "I don't see this obsession with his age when all of this is being accomplished in this country. Tell me why that's an issue."

Chris Christie points out Joe Biden's drawbacks

Responding to Behar, the former governor of New Jersey mentioned that if Joe Biden had the same approval rating as Behar at his age, there would have been no problem. However, according to recent polls, it was hanging way low at 37 percent across the country.

"The reason for that is all of the things that you just talked about, which are factually true, he (Biden) can't sell it. He's not selling it and he can't sell it."

"It's not that Joe Biden never could sell it," clarified Christie. "I've known Joe Biden for 40 years. He was a really good, effective politician. He isn't anymore. He is not effective at selling it."

He reminded the co-host that being the President is also about convincing the people that a person is up for the job.

"People look at him (Biden) and they say, 'Is he really up to it? Can he really do it?' And can he not only do it today, but we're giving him a 4-year contract to go into his 86th," he added.
