NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘The View’ host Joy Behar didn’t mince her words as she furiously lambasted President Donald Trump for “attacking” his own base over their calls to release the Jeffrey Epstein files.

The infamous Epstein files have been a topic of discussion on 'The View' ever since a leaked Justice Department memo confirmed that the infamous financier indeed killed himself and did not maintain a “client list” to blackmail the elite.

‘The View’ hosts school Donald Trump over his response to demands for Jeffrey Epstein files release

On Thursday, June 17, 'The View' hosts opened the episode with a fiery discussion about the latest development in the Jeffrey Epstein files case, spotlighting how Donald Trump unexpectedly turned his ire toward his own base.

During the episode, the show aired a video of the 79-year-old president claiming that Democrats created the Epstein files as a “hoax,” before taking a surprising swipe at his party, labeling certain Republicans as “stupid.”

"This is the Democrats’ fault? It’s very, very freaky, but a lot of his supporters are still convinced there is a cover-up happening. How are they going to feel about being called... [gasps] stupid?" Whoopi Goldberg claimed after the footage. To which, Joy Behar replied, "I don’t think they like it.”

Meanwhile, Alyssa Farah Griffin lambasted Trump’s tactic as deeply misguided, saying, "If Trump is trying to convince people there’s no there, there, there’s nothing to see there, he’s doing literally the exact opposite of what you would do."

"Firing the prosecutor who tried Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, that’s going to open the door to 1,000 more questions. Claiming it’s all a hoax by Democrats, despite the fact that Epstein was tried and died during his first term, not when Joe Biden was in office, and then attacking his own supporters while they’re already unhappy..." she further asserted.

Highlighting Trump’s response, Behar asked, "My question is, why is Donald Trump being so dumb? Why is he attacking his own base?"

Joy Behar gives harsh warning to Ghislaine Maxwell

This came just a day after Joy Behar issued a harsh warning to Jeffrey Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell, as Sunny Hostin called for her to testify from prison.

“She better be careful,” Joy Behar said, referring to Maxwell’s reported willingness to speak out in the case. To which Hostin replied, “Let her testify. If there is a list, if there isn't a list. I think there should be an investigation, because people seem to want to know what's happening.”

Behar then went on to bash Donald Trump’s most recent denials, saying, “He keeps protesting. ‘There’s no list, there’s no list,’ then ‘there’s a list, there’s no list.’ It’s like the lady doth protest too much.”

“If I kept saying that I never dyed my hair, you would believe the opposite, right? That’s what he’s doing. ‘I’m innocent. I’m innocent. I did nothing,’ a lot of what he’s saying, and that makes me suspicious,” she asked.
