WASHINGTON, DC: In a bombshell admission this June, Donald Trump’s former lawyer, David Schoen, who also represented Jeffrey Epstein in his final days before his death in 2019, publicly addressed speculation that the disgraced financier had “information to hurt” the president.

Schoen’s remarks resurfaced on Monday, July 14, as tensions flared within Trump’s inner circle over a leaked Justice Department memo, which claimed that Epstein indeed killed himself and did not maintain a “client list” to blackmail the elite.

Donald Trump's lawyer reveals if Jeffrey Epstein had any ‘information to hurt’ the president

Speculation about Donald Trump’s involvement in the convicted offender’s infamous case first gained public attention after his former First Buddy, Elon Musk, explosively claimed that the president was “in the Epstein files.

Following the Tesla CEO’s bombshell remarks, David Schoen, who served as Trump’s impeachment lawyer, took to X on June 6 to defend the president. “I was hired to lead Jeffrey Epstein’s defense as his criminal lawyer 9 days before he died,” Schoen wrote.

“He sought my advice for months before that. I can say authoritatively, unequivocally, and definitely that he had no information to hurt President Trump. I specifically asked that!” he added.

Later, in a statement to TMZ, Schoen further claimed that Epstein had even confessed that if he had any dirt on the president, he would have used it against him.

“What I can say definitively is that I discussed this subject with Mr Epstein at a time when it would have been in his best interests to implicate others, and he made clear that Donald Trump did nothing wrong and that he had no damaging information against him,” the attorney asserted.

Donald Trump defends Pam Bondi amid Jeffrey Epstein files fiasco

Even though David Schoen made the bombshell admission in response to Elon Musk’s allegations, it has now become explosive ammunition in the escalating civil war among Donald Trump’s own supporters, who have been locked in a bitter battle since the Justice Department memo came to light.

The memo ignited fury among hardline MAGA loyalists, unleashing a wave of backlash against Attorney General Pam Bondi from conservative firebrands including Tucker Carlson, Laura Loomer, and Steve Bannon.

However, Trump has come out in Bondi’s defense, bashing his own supporters for fixating on the story.

“What’s going on with my ‘boys’ and, in some cases, ‘gals?’ They’re all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a fantastic job! We’re on one Team, MAGA, and I don’t like what’s happening,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“We have a perfect administration, the talk of the world, and ‘selfish people’ are trying to hurt it, all over a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein. For years, it’s Epstein, over and over again,” he further added.

He even claimed that the Epstein files were essentially opposition research crafted by his old enemies, including Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama.

“Why are we giving publicity to Files written by Obama, Crooked Hillary, Comey, Brennan, and the Losers and Criminals of the Biden Administration, who conned the World with the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, 51 'Intelligence' Agents, 'The laptop from hell,' and more?”

“They created the Epstein Files, just like they created the fake Hillary Clinton/Christopher Steele Dossier that they used on me, and now my so-called 'friends' are playing right into their hands,” he wrote.
