LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sunny Hostin, co-host of 'The View,' appears to be rethinking her stance on the release of files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In a recent segment, Hostin urged the Department of Justice to release all available information, including what many believe is a long-suppressed list of high-profile individuals connected to Epstein and his network.

Sunny Hostin demands DOJ release Jeffrey Epstein-related files, questions Donald Trump’s past ties

Sunny Hostin’s renewed call for transparency comes as backlash grows over the Donald Trump-era DOJ’s assertion that no such client list exists. 'The View' co-host criticized both Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi for downplaying the scandal.

She referenced Trump’s past remarks, including his 2002 quote to New York Magazine, in which he described Epstein as a “terrific guy.”

Hostin said, “So now he’s calling his supporters selfish, he’s trying to make this go away, yet in 2002, he told New York Magazine, ‘I have known Jeff for 15 years. He is a terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do and many of them are on the younger side.’”

Hostin questioned why more documents haven’t been released, adding that Trump’s name had already appeared on Epstein’s flight logs.

“Trump’s name is on the passenger logs of Epstein’s aircraft at least seven times. That’s already been made public. I mean, of course, Trump is denying any and all allegations, but all of that information is out there. Why not just put it to rest and say, release the list?” she asked.

Trump supporters have expressed outrage following the DOJ’s conclusion that Epstein died by suicide in 2019 and that no list exists identifying individuals allegedly involved in his trafficking network.

Before the DOJ’s reversal, officials such as Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and Deputy Director Dan Bongino had all publicly called for the full disclosure of Epstein’s secrets.

Hostin also urged authorities to release more details and called for Ghislaine Maxwell to testify about the alleged list. Maxwell, who was convicted of trafficking and aiding Epstein in recruiting underage girls, is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence.

This outspoken shift marks a sharp contrast from Sunny Hostin’s more cautious stance just a year ago.

In January 2024, following the unsealing of hundreds of Jeffrey Epstein-related court documents, Hostin adopted a more reserved tone. She warned against media speculation and discouraged the repetition of names listed in the filings.

“I was very concerned about some of the coverage that I’ve seen. People were dying for this information,” Hostin said during an episode of 'The View.' “There was some sort of list that everybody thought would come out, and who’s on the list? Only some of the documents have been released, about 900 of them. They’ve been unsealed."

Hostin noted that these documents have identified numerous Epstein associates and figures mentioned in proceedings of the 2015 defamation lawsuit brought by Virginia Giuffre against Ghislaine Maxwell.”

Hostin emphasized that inclusion in the documents did not imply guilt. “Just because your name is on the documents doesn’t mean you’ve done anything criminal or even civilly irresponsible,” she told viewers.

She also cautioned against “conspiracy theorists” eager to draw conclusions, pointing out that only a fraction of the documents had been unsealed and many lacked substantiated claims.

Now, in light of recent developments, Hostin is demanding more answers. She’s calling for Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate now serving a 20-year prison sentence, to testify on whether a client list ever existed, and if so, what names may have been withheld.

With both Democrats and Republicans clashing over how to address the case, Hostin believes it won’t fade from public view anytime soon. “I do think that this is not going away because of the severity of what could be in these files and because of the severity of the crimes,” she said on Tuesday’s show. “Democrats are embracing the politics of the situation for a change. They’re actually taking it head-on.”

Internet reacts after Sunny Hostin appears to shift stance on Jeffrey Epstein files

The internet lit up after 'The View' co-host Sunny Hostin appeared to shift her stance on the long-demanded release of Jeffrey Epstein-related files, following a declaration by the Trump-era Department of Justice that no “client list” actually exists.

One outraged user wrote, “The hypocrisy of the left is staggering. For years, they didn't care about the Epstein list, but now that it might inconvenience them, suddenly it's the most important thing in the world,” while another user lamented, “Sunny is a hypocrite.”

Another commented, “Shocking...a media ‘personality’ has no consistent values at all. Who would have thought?”

One user penned, “The flip-flop hypocrisy when the narrative changes.”

Another bluntly stated, “Wow, these libs are such hypocrites.”

Some were even more direct in their criticism of Hostin herself, writing, “Hostin continues to show how fake and phony she is every time she opens her mouth, and it's sad.”
