WASHINGTON, DC: In the past week, Hunter Biden has faced a series of legal setbacks, including the denial of his request to delay his federal gun trial, efforts to postpone his tax trial, and the revelation that his primary benefactor for legal defense funds has run out of money.

Despite these challenges, the first son is gearing up for another major legal confrontation.

Hunter Biden plans lawsuit against Fox News over dehumanizing behavior

Three weeks ago, Hunter's attorney dispatched a legal letter to Fox News, accusing the network of conspiring with Trump operatives and pro-Russia foreign nationals to defame him. The letter also alleges that Fox News exploited his image for profit.

In an interview with The Daily Beast, the 54-year-old criticized Rupert Murdoch’s flagship network for using his past drug addiction to "dehumanize" him as a tactic to undermine his father, President Joe Biden.

He asserted, "I’m not saying my addiction is an excuse for my bad behavior. What I’m saying is that my addiction is not an excuse for them to dehumanize me—and in doing so dehumanize everybody from the addict that you pass it on the street, to the one that you live with."

"That is the principal motivating factor. Addict, addict, addict, addict, you know. Crack addict, he’s a crack addict, smoking crack, addict," added Hunter, referring to attacks by Fox News personalities.

The legal letter from his attorneys demanded that Fox News issue written retractions and on-air apologies for numerous online articles and broadcasts. Hunter's lawyers confirmed to The Daily Beast that they plan to file a lawsuit "shortly."

As a Yale Law graduate, the first son acknowledged the potential challenges and risks of a defamation lawsuit but remained undeterred.

"Everybody that has ever thought about bringing a defamation suit is always told they’re just going to spend any legal proceeding defaming you all over again," remarked Hunter, adding, "It’s not like I’m going to reignite some controversy over whether or not I ever smoked crack."

The incumbent's son believes that if the lawsuit reaches the discovery phase, it could yield even more damning revelations than those seen during Dominion Voting Systems' successful defamation suit against Fox News.

Dominion’s lawsuit exposed internal texts and emails showing that Fox News promoted false claims about the 2020 election, ultimately leading to a settlement.

Fox News responds to Hunter Biden's accusations

In reply to Hunter's allegations, a Fox News spokesperson cited the channel's "constitutionally protected coverage" of a public figure "who has been the subject of investigations by both the Department of Justice and Congress, has been indicted by two different US Attorney’s Offices in California and Delaware, and has admitted to multiple incidents of wrongdoing."

"Consistent with the First Amendment, Fox News has accurately covered these highly publicized events as well as the subsequent indictment of an FBI informant who was the source of certain claims made about Mr Biden," said the statement.

Hunter's attorneys have demanded that Fox News retract this statement, arguing that it falsely suggested he was under investigation by Congress and misrepresented the facts of his legal battles.

The first son's struggle for a semblance of private life ended three-and-a-half years ago when the controversial contents of his personal laptop became public. Hunter argued that Fox News continues to use explicit images from his laptop as visual aids for unrelated stories about him and his activities in Ukraine and Romania.

"Go back and look at the Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity shows, look at what they’re doing as they’re talking about me and Ukraine, and Romania, and all the other total absolute bulls--- that the ‘laptop’ does not prove in any way," said Hunter.

He stressed, "But in the end, on the split-screen next to them is always a picture of me. Usually shirtless with a cigarette or a crack pipe in my mouth."

The explicit content from his laptop includes images of him using drugs and engaging in sexual activities, which Fox News is said to have repeatedly aired without his authorization. The channel's political motivations for these portrayals are clear to Hunter: by dehumanizing him, they aim to undermine his father’s integrity and political standing.

"Whatever you say, the one thing that nobody ever accused my dad of was getting rich off of being a United States senator," noted Hunter, adding, "And so what’s the one thing that you need to do? You need to completely dehumanize me. And the easiest way to do that is to show me to be this degenerate crack addict."

Notably, Fox News removed 'The Trial of Hunter Biden' miniseries, which extensively used these unauthorized images, after receiving the legal threat. The miniseries, a mock trial of the first son, had also been pulled from streaming services like Roku and AppleTV+.

Despite this removal, Biden contends that it does not absolve the network from liability, although it might reduce potential damages in a trial.

Fox News addressed the removal of the miniseries in a statement, noting, "This program was produced in and has been available since 2022. We are reviewing the concerns that have just been raised and—out of an abundance of caution in the interim—have taken it down."

Reflecting on the Dominion lawsuit, Hunter suggested that the potential fallout from his lawsuit could be even more significant, revealing a prolonged and systemic effort to vilify him by figures like Rudy Giuliani and his associates, including foreign nationals.

"If we ever got them, it would make Dominion look like f---ing, in my opinion, you know, pattycakes," stressed the former lobbyist.

Internet reacts as Hunter Biden talks about punching back at Fox News

Despite the first son's vigorous defense, he was widely mocked on social media.

One wrote, "Hunter Biden 'dehumanized' himself. That is a fact that cannot be denied," and another added, "Nepo addict."

"Well he gave the material and factual evidence," quipped a person, while someone else remarked, "Absolutely nobody cares. F--- hunter."

An individual expressed, "Poor Hunter...one bad choice after another and he is not done yet...."
