CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE: During an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on Monday, January 22, Nikki Haley, the remaining Republican presidential contender apart from Donald Trump, expressed her concerns over the mental health of her former boss, if he were to return to the White House.

The former South Carolina governor further criticized Trump and President Joe Biden for their political baggage, as per Mediate

Nikki Haley ponders on why she thinks Donald Trump and Joe Biden aren't fit for the White House

During the interview, Hewitt asked Haley, "Are you arguing that the former president is mentally incompetent?" highlighting how she has targeted Trump's mental fitness, especially after the 77-year-old Republican frontrunner confused her with Nancy Pelosi during a campaign stop in Concord, New Hampshire, on January 19.

The former South Carolina Governor replied, "No, I’m not saying that. What I’m saying is that this is just common sense. If you have two men running for president that are in their 80s, you are going to get what you get when you’ve got two men running in their 80s."

She elaborated, "Look at Joe Biden two years ago. He is very much diminished from when he started because this job is hard. There’s a lot of pressure, there’s a lot of late nights, you’ve got to make some tough decisions, and it wears on you."

"And so, you know, this is tough if you’re 50 years old. It’s even tougher if you’re 80 years old because you can’t do as much as you could when you were younger. That’s a fact. Any doctor will tell you that," added Haley.

She noted, "When you have someone that is at that age, you are going to see that kind of decline and look at how fast it declined with Biden."

Hewitt subsequently asked Haley if she thought Trump was "more fit" than Biden. Even though the presidential hopeful replied affirmatively to the host's question, she reiterated her argument that Trump's baggage was comparable to Biden's.

She contended, "He’s not, you know, mumbling his words like Biden, but he is still someone who’s going to be 80. And I think that that’s the part that you have to look at. I mean, really is America going to settle for that? But it’s more than that, Hugh, it’s not just about age."

"Look at the fact that the majority of Americans disapprove of Biden and disapprove of Trump. The majority of Americans see that both of these presidents put us trillions of dollars in debt, and our kids are never going to forgive them for it," added Haley.

She further remarked, "Both of these presidents have focused on talking about the investigations that are against their families, their hurt feelings, and vendettas that they want to get taken care of. We need someone with no drama, no vendetta that’s focused on the future."

Internet disagrees with Nikki Haley's evaluation of Donald Trump's 'mental decline'

Soon after Haley's remarks regarding Trump's "mental decline" came to light, netizens seemed to disagree with her stance.

One remarked, "This is a desperate attempt, she should really be ashamed of herself. Her time is almost up anyway."

Another user argued, "That's not Nostradamus level prediction. He is in and out of courts every week and under several indictments. His stress level has got to be 11. His mind was already cat food, but add the stress? Yeah, he's going to implode in the not distant future. Bank on it."

"That's like predicting the sun will rise in the east and set in the west," quipped a person, and someone else added, "I predict we will all continue declining."
