Susan Egan wants Zendaya and Tom Holland in ‘Hercules’ live-action remake
Egan said, “I mean, I’ve been subtly saying Zendaya, but now I’m just gonna say it,” before jokingly stating, “And probably, Tom and Zendaya, who I have never met, are filing for the restraining order right now. But honestly, I don’t even care. I feel like the world needs it.”
The Tony award nominated actress further explained that she’s naming the pair not because “they are the ‘it’ couple right now, it’s not even that. I have watched her beautiful career from when she was a teenager, and she’s just grounded.”
“She is a strong woman, obviously, statuesque and amazing, with an incredible voice and a little edge, don’t you think?” Egan added.
Zendaya and Tom Holland have starred together in ‘Spider-Man’
Zendaya and Holland have worked together in the ‘Spider-Man’ franchise, including 2017’s ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’, 2019’s ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ and 2021’s ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’. They also appeared together in this year’s ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’.
The British actor, 30, has played Peter Parker aka Spider-Man, while his wife plays Michelle "MJ" Jones-Watson. A few weeks ago, Holland hinted that a succession plan is underway and the world will get to see a new Spider-Man.
“There’s a whole plan that we have been working on, I would say, since we finished ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’. It’s gonna change for sure, but I have a really clear vision to the passing on of the baton, and I think it’s really exciting,’” the ‘The Odyssey’ star reportedly said.
Susan Egan celebrates Disney Legend honor with husband and daughters
Meanwhile, Egan’s comment regarding the pair came as she received the special honor from Global girl group KATSEYE, who performed for her. They sang ‘I Won’t Say (I’m In Love)’ from ‘Hercules’.
The singer has reportedly dedicated more than two decades to working for Disney as an actress as well as a performer. In addition, she’s now serving as an executive producer in partnership with Disney Concerts, Disney Cruise Line, and more for the last seven years.
In late 2025, the dancer was even made the official godmother of the Disney Cruise Line ship Disney Destiny.
After being recognized for her work, Egan mentioned her husband and daughters, calling them “the legends in my life.”
