NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Following a record-breaking Jersey Shore event, former President Donald Trump will host his first significant rally in his native state next week in the South Bronx, as per the New York Post.

The Trump campaign said on Friday, May 17, that it has permission for up to 3,500 people to attend the May 23 event, which will begin at 6 pm in Crotona Park.

During the event, Trump is scheduled to address the crime, immigration, and economic conditions in the Empire State. Since Buffalo in 2016, this will be the ex-POTUS' first rally in his birth state.

Team Trump said in the announcement, "New Yorkers have suffered greatly thanks to Biden’s failed policies. The Empire State, a place near to President Trump’s heart, has been decimated by Biden."

It added, "President Trump will ease the financial pressures placed on households and re-establish law and order in New York!"

Furthermore, the Trump team emphasized double-digit percentage point rises in New York's homicide and assault statistics since 2019, as well as a spike in the state's cost of products since Biden assumed office.

The statement concluded, "We can Make America Great Again by tackling lawlessness head-on, ceasing the endless flow of illegal immigrants across our southern border, and reversing the detrimental effects of inflation by restoring people’s wealth."

Despite formally moving to his Mar-a-Lago resort in 2019, Trump, a native New Yorker, has recently made regular trips to Manhattan as he stands trial for an alleged $130,000 hush money payment to Stormy Daniels.

The former president has visited the Big Apple publicly after court twice with his 2024 campaign crew.

A day after his trial began, on April 16, Trump traveled to the Harlem bodega where Jose Alba, the clerk, was charged with murder after slashing to death an attacker who approached him from behind the counter. Eventually, the murder accusation was withdrawn.

A few weeks later, on May 2, following his court appearance, Trump and his campaign crew delivered pizzas to a Manhattan firehouse.

During his May 11 event in Wildwood, New Jersey, Trump reportedly gathered an audience of 80,000–100,000, setting a record for a political gathering in the Garden State.

A person said, "Omg. He’s a publicity vampire, seeking sources of media, and draining them of all credibility," and someone else quipped, "Oh you mean a cult gathering."

"Don’t vote for Trump!" exclaimed an individual. One more offered, "I think he needs Yankee Stadium for all the New Yorkers who want to see him."

Another person stated, "Would be great to see how blue the people of NYC really are. I would think very after all of Bidens mess the last 3 years."
