JUPITER, FLORIDA: Eric Trump, the son of former US President Donald Trump, recently gave a speech at a campaign event where he claimed that his father prevented the US from going to war with several countries due to the respect foreign authoritarian leaders had for him, per a report by OK magazine.

These comments were widely shared on social media and resulted in criticism of the Trump family's apparent affinity with authoritarian leaders such as Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un.

During a ReAwaken America event, Eric Trump told a crowd of Trump supporters, "My father’s personality kept us out of wars."

However, his remarks were subject to ridicule and condemnation on X (formerly known as Twitter), where several users highlighted how Trump admired and envied many of the leaders he referenced in his speech and their authoritarian style of governance.

What did Eric Trump say about his father?

Eric said, "All these world leaders — what’s amazing is all the tough guys were the guys who respected him."

He added, "Kim Jong-un, he respected my father. Putin respected my father. The tough guys respected my father."

Previously, at a rally in Florida, on November 9, 2023, former President Donald Trump expressed his concerns about the possibility of a third world war and even praised several dictators, including Putin and Jong-Un, and suggested that dealing with them required intelligence.

However, he also claimed that the media did not appreciate his comments about their intelligence.

Trump went on to suggest that the United States was at risk of a third world war due to the incompetence of those handling foreign policy.

"This is the closest, and I hope that one’s wrong and that it’s not a prediction because I would never make that prediction. It’s too horrible a thing to say," he said, before stating that the war would only happen for one reason. "We have incompetent people talking on our behalf."

He mentioned China, North Korea, and Russia as examples of countries that the US must engage with, and appeared to conflate the populations of China and North Korea.

"You know, when you deal with China, President Xi and North Korea, Kim Jong Un and Russia, [Vladimir] Putin, you deal with all these people," he explained. "The press hates when I say they’re smart ... Well, what am I supposed to say? They’re stupid people?"

He also praised Jong-Un's leadership style, suggesting that there was "no doubt about who the boss is."

Despite the criticism of the Biden administration, Trump did not offer any specific policy proposals during his speech.

Instead, he focused on criticizing the media and suggesting that they were "fake" and "hurting our country very badly."

Internet slams Eric Trump’s outlandish claims about his father

People on X ridiculed the idea by the former first son that Donald Trump was indeed capable of commanding a room with dictators like Putin, Xi, and Kim Jong Un.

One X user said, "Can someone tell Eric Trump that it wasn't his father's personality that kept us out of wars and it was because his father kissed Kim Jong-Un's and Putin's asses? Donald Trump literally sold out our government to Putin."

Another user wrote, "Donald Trump was a pillow princess for every dictator he ever met. So, no."

Another user remarked, "They all want to be dictators, that's what our hyper-capitalist society teaches the rich and powerful."

One user tweeted, "He’s partially correct. Trump never met a dictator he wouldn’t surrender to."

Another X user said, "Did he forget to mention uncle Adolph for the speech ideas?"

Finally, this user quipped, "Maybe that’s because he was in their pocket lol".
