MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Donald Trump's recent assertion regarding his "spot-checking" skills became ripe material for Stephen Colbert's comedic repertoire on the latest installment of 'The Late Show' on March 11.

Over the weekend, Trump lamented to his supporters in Georgia, "The fake news will say, 'Oh he goes from subject to… No, you have to be very smart to do that. You got to be very smart, it’s called, you know what it is, it’s called spot-checking, you’re thinking about something when you’re talking about something else."

The ex-POTUS added, "Bop bop bop bop bop bop bop and then you get back to the original and they go, 'Holy s**t, did you see what he did?'"

"It’s called intelligence," concluded Trump.

Colbert with his usual comedic charm retorted, "Yes, it’s called intelligence. Look no further than Einstein’s famous equation 'E = bop bop bop bop bop holy s**t'," eliciting laughter from the audience.

The late-night host then said, "If being constantly distracted makes you smart, I would like to congratulate America's next Nobel laureate, my dog Benny."

"He is incredible. He'll be focused on food, then squirrel, then ball, then doorbell, then doorbell on TV. It's bark bark bark bark bark. It's called intelligence," added Colbert.

One remarked, "It’s completely and totally embarrassing and humiliating that Trump was once president and has a real chance of becoming president again," and another said, "There is no depth to which Donald Trump will not descend."

"Thank goodness we have Steven and the other late night comedians to tell us how bad Trump is and not sugarcoat his rhetoric. Hopefully, mainstream media will get fully on board way before the election," expressed a person, hailing Colbert.

Someone else shared, "Biden isn’t perfect… but my God look at the other side!!! Go out and VOTE!!!!" An individual stated, "Vote for the guy with 81 years behind him, not the guy with 91 felony charges in front of him. Cheers."

One more praised Colbert saying, "It takes a heck of a lot more work to build something than it does to tear it down. Thank you Stephen Colbert (and staff) for carefully building a hilarious case that Trump is a force for chaos and destruction."
