'He’s unhinged': Internet divided as George Santos rants about Delta experience, claims airline transports undocumented migrants

QUEENS, NEW YORK: Former New York Representative George Santos, who was recently expelled from the House of Congress, expressed dissatisfaction with Delta Air Lines after experiencing what he called a 'nightmare' situation.

On Friday, December 22, the former Republican took to social media to vent his frustrations with the company's boarding process and CEO Ed Bastian, whom he accused over baseless claims about Delta's transportation of undocumented immigrants.



 

Per the New York Post, despite being a 'big Delta guy' for many years, Santos complained that “people are literally with no name, no ID is printed and allowed on their boarding pass,” a claim which he provided no evidence to support.

In contrast, he stated that his long name, "George Anthony Devolder Santos," which did not match the format in which he registered his Sky Miles, resulted in a mismatch and created a 'nightmare' scenario for him as a frequent flyer.

What did George Santos’s rant entail?

On his recent social media rant, Santos criticized Delta Air Lines CEO, Ed Bastian, whom he had previously considered a competent CEO.

Santos posted a video on X with a caption that read, "Shout out to @stclairashley who pulled the curtain back on all of this! It’s time we turn o. The heat and try to save whatever we can of our very exposed national security. This must end NOW!



 

Santos challenged Bastian to disclose the number of people who were transported under Delta Air Lines without proper identification.

The former New York congressman asked, “What gives, Ed? You have a very good reputation as one of the airline CEOs but this is bulls**t. How about you tell us how many people have you transported under this no name, no ID given?”

Santos also directed criticism at GOP colleague and New York Congressman Anthony D’Esposito for not doing enough in his Transportation and Infrastructure Committee duties.

“Hey, Anthony D’Esposito — how about you do something you meatball? You sit on the T and I (Transportation and Infrastructure Committee). Like what the f**k are you people doing? What’s the point of having a committee assignment if you’re not going to do anything?” he said in the video.

Congressman D'Esposito of Long Island was the first sitting Republican lawmaker in Congress to call for Santos' resignation and to spearhead efforts to remove him from office.

Santos’ rant came in the wake of allegations by conservative commentator, Ashley St. Clair, who shared footage on X that showed migrants who had recently crossed the border at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport being 'shipped' to New York.



 

St. Clair alleged that the migrants’ bags were from migrant processing centers.

Following the allegations, Florida Representative, Matt Gaetz (R., Fla.), wrote a letter to Ed Bastian demanding answers as to whether Delta Air Lines transports illegal immigrants from southern border states into other parts of the United States.

Internet dubs Santos as ‘unhinged’ trolling him for his baseless claims

People on X reacted to Santos’ rant wryly as the former Republican garnered mixed reactions in response to his post on Friday.
