NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Hillary Clinton did not shy away from discussing her former 2016 presidential opponent, Donald Trump, during an appearance on 'The View' on Thursday, September 19.

While reflecting on her campaign experience, Clinton commended Vice President Kamala Harris for her approach to confronting the Republican presidential candidate in the 2024 election race.

Hillary Clinton says Donald Trump constantly needs 'emotional support'

Speaking about the debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump on September 10, Hillary Clinton noted that the Vice President hit the 78-year-old politician where it hurt most, his ego.

“He’s definitely bait-able because he has a very fragile ego that has to be constantly buttressed,” said Clinton.

“He has to have people around him who are constantly giving him all of this emotional support," she added, according to Newsweek.

Hillary Clinton, who faced Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election, spoke about how she strategically “baited” him during their campaign.

“I was baiting him about nuclear weapons — which I think is kind of important,” said Clinton.

“She baited him about his crowd size,” she said of Harris.

The former secretary of state also stressed that while the Republican presidential candidate may be indifferent to policy or national security issues, like nuclear weapons, he remains deeply sensitive about his crowd size and public image.

“She [Harris] understood and did it so effectively… it wasn’t just about scoring points against him in a debate. It was about exposing him,” said Clinton.

Hillary Clinton's message to Americans

Turning to 'The View' co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former Trump White House staffer, Hillary Clinton referenced how many past Donald Trump aides have now distanced themselves from him and urged voters not to reelect him.

“Letting the American people see what those of you who have been around him… [are] now saying, ‘Please, don’t let him near the White House again,’” she said.

'The View' co-host Sunny Hostin then asked Clinton if she would feel jealous of Harris if she were to win the presidency.

“You are the woman that didn’t crash through the ceiling, but man, you made a lot of cracks,” said Hostin, referencing Clinton’s historic 2016 run.

"And so I wonder, in reading your book, and you address it a little bit, how will you feel when she wins? Will there be a part of you that feels, 'Wow, I wish that were me,'" she asked.

Without hesitation, Clinton replied, “No. Not anymore. Not anymore!”
