'Honey, hush': Alina Habba slammed for accusing judges of questioning her competence in Trump's trial
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: During her appearance on Newsmax, former President Donald Trump's lawyer Alina Habba argued that judges have unfairly portrayed her as incompetent.
She believes it has also affected fellow Trump attorney Todd Blanche, who was recently criticized for "losing all credibility."
Alina Habba's claims judges were making her look bad
Habba's defense came in response to questions about the performance of Todd Blanche during a hearing regarding potential violations of a limited gag order in Trump's criminal hush money case.
Habba said, "This is the same methodology some judges have done with me."
She added, "And the left-wing media, they'll run with it. They try to make attorneys on the team look or seem like they don't know what they're doing."
Habba mentioned that she had been reprimanded multiple times by US District Judge Lewis Kaplan and Justice Arthur Engoron during Trump's civil court trials in New York.
She highlighted instances where she requested trial breaks and addressed her client's outburst on the witness stand.
According to her, during these moments, one judge made "comments that would make the press believe that I didn’t know what I was doing." She said, "They do this intentionally."
Habba also suggested that Todd Blanche, Trump's lead attorney, faced similar treatment from Judge Juan Merchan during a recent gag order contempt hearing while defending Trump.
"To say 'Todd, you're losing credibility because there's no case on a president being gagged and his First Amendment rights being taken away,'" Habba said, adding, "Well let me tell you why there's no precedent on that because it's never happened before!'"
Alina Habba's complaints draw ridicule on social media
Habba's take faced widespread ridicule on social media, drawing sharp criticism and humorous jabs from users.
