'Hope they vote you out': Internet mocks Marjorie Taylor Greene as she announces qualification for re-election bid

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Marjorie Taylor Greene took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to announce that she was up for re-election as the representative of Northwest Georgia in the Capitol on March 4.

While some on the internet shared their support, most netizens slammed the move and trolled the congresswoman for her efforts.

Greene assumed office representing Georgia's 14th Congressional District on January 3, 2021, with her current term ending on the same date in 2025.

In her tweet, Greene shared a video message where she is seen standing outdoors, saying, "Hi, this is Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, and I just qualified to run for re-election for Georgia's 14th district."

"First, I want to thank you so much for your support in allowing me to represent you in Congress," she continued. "And I'd like to ask for your support again this year on May 21. Thank you so much."

Additionally, she wrote in her post, "I just qualified for re-election to continue serving Northwest Georgia in the House of Representatives! I’d like to ask for your support again this year when you go to the polls to vote on May 21st. Vote for Marjorie Taylor Greene!"

The majority of netizens did not welcome the news of MTG standing for election again.

Some posted positive messages, such as, "If i lived in your district I would vote for you," and "Majorie Taylor Green has proven her dedication to the folks of Georgia by putting not just Georgia’s Residents first but The United States first . Re - Elect MT Green. Thank You !"



 



 

However, the following tweets demonstrate the predominant mood.

"I hope they vote you out!!!!!" commented a user.



 

"Apparently trying to overthrow the government is now part of the qualification to run for political office," jibed another.



 

"Please 🙏 don’t do this USA " wrote a third.



 

"Or vote for a Pet Rock, it will achieve an equal amount of legislation as Marge 🤷‍" mocked a fourth.



 

"The qualifications have to be so low that I could enter my dead turtle in the race," was the sarcastic take of a fifth.
