WASHINGTON, DC: The House Republicans accused President Joe Biden's administration of conspiring with anti-gun groups, as reported by Newsweek.

The Republican-led House Oversight Committee took to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, June 14, to announce that they were "investigating potential collaboration between the Biden Administration and anti-Second Amendment plaintiffs (including the city of Chicago) on pending litigation targeting Glock, Inc."

According to the House Committee, Glock is one of the leading suppliers of firearms to both civilians and law enforcement in America. Approximately 65% of law enforcement agencies nationwide use Glocks as their primary sidearm.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, in a letter to the White House Office on Gun Violence Prevention, stated that the probe was launched in relation to a recent lawsuit by Chicago with Everytown Law, a pro-gun control organization, that blamed "Glock, Inc has willfully sold pistols that can be converted into fully automatic weapons."

Biden, an advocate for stricter gun control laws, earlier this month reiterated his position while speaking at Everytown's Gun Sense University. He touted his administration's efforts to reduce gun violence in the country, noting how they turned gun trafficking and straw purchasing into a federal crime.

However, the Republican Oversight Committee says the current administration met "privately" with Glock's officials, urging them to make the installation of the "auto sear" part harder.

"The suit focuses on the availability and use by criminals of 'auto sears', a part manufactured by third parties and designed to circumvent the safety design of the pistol which, as sold by Glock, is semi-automatic, meaning one and only one round will be fired with each pull of the trigger," wrote Comer in his letter.

He added, "The use of auto sears disables the design of the guns' design, allowing continuous fire with each trigger pull, a clear and undisputed violation of the NFA."

The GOP lawmaker also asked for all details, including documents regarding the White House's communication with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and Everytown for Gun Safety.

Internet blasts House GOP for launching new investigation against Biden administration

A person wrote, "More Political Theater," while someone else added, "Another investigation that will go absolutely nowhere."

One remarked, "Can't you stay out of other people's business and investigations? This obsession with guns and investigations into everything is a waste. Now it's a gun investigation. Shouldn't you be doing something for Americans?"

"Investigate why the GOP on the Oversight Committee keep wasting tax-payer money on frivolous partisan investigations," expressed another.

An individual stated, "All of these MAGA 'non-political' investigations into Biden and ZERO indictments. So either Biden is smarter than all of MAGA, or MAGA is just all show and no go Could MAGA be the swamp?"

One more claimed, "Another waste of taxpayers money and legislative opportunities just to try to make Biden Administration look bad but it only makes you guys look like fools!!!!" with a netizen fuming, "Even more evidence that Republicans are corrupt, lazy, stupid, greedy fools."
