WASHINGTON, DC: Democrat lawmakers proudly waved the Ukrainian flag in the US House of Representatives following the approval of $61 billion in military aid for Ukraine on Saturday, April 20, after months of stalling.

No sooner, GOP Congresswoman Kat Cammack jumped on X (formerly Twitter) to share that her team is curating a new law that would obstruct any foreign flags from being hoisted inside the House.

Democrats were criticized for waving the Ukrainian flag in the House

According to many clips shared on X (formerly Twitter), including one from Collin Rugg, the House Democrats cheered and waved tiny Ukrainian flags on Saturday after they approved a whopping $95 billion package, with $61 billion set aside as aid for Ukraine.

The bill for Ukraine aid, totaling nearly $61 billion, passed with a vote of 311-112.

A portion of it, around $14 billion, will go toward Ukraine's defense systems. Another $23 billion will restock US weapons and facilities, and over $11 billion will fund ongoing US military activities in the area.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude to the United States House of Representatives on X (formerly Twitter), writing, "I am grateful to the United States House of Representatives, both parties, and personally Speaker Mike Johnson for the decision that keeps history on the right track."

He stressed, "Democracy and freedom will always have global significance and will never fail as long as America helps to protect it."

Johnson chastised Democrats who waved Ukrainian flags on the House floor following the bill's passage, despite the bipartisan support.

He noted, "We should only wave one flag on the House floor. And I think we know which flag that is," as per CNN

Meanwhile, Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is seeking to oust Johnson from his role as the speaker, shared a video of the celebration on her X (formerly Twitter) account and wrote, "Mike Johnson’s House of Representatives so proud to work for Ukraine. Not the American people!!! It’s despicable!"

Internet reacts to House Democrats waiving Ukrainian flag on approval of $61 billion in military aid for Ukraine

One declared, "They should all be tossed out of the house floor for waving a foreign flag! How disrespectful to our nation and us!"

Another said, "This is the most unAmerican government in our history," while a person added, "Celebrating funding Ukraine which the majority oppose? then cheering about it? … is taunting. Daring us to rise up. We will … in November. Show up! Vote Trump!"

"The only flag that should be flying on the floor of the U.S. House is the AMERICAN FLAG!" expressed someone else.

An individual shared, "As part of a military family, and someone who loves America despite not being born here, this is disgusting. Only the American flag should be present. America First only!"

One more claimed, "They are all corrupt, they’re either being blackmailed or they are being paid off."
