Hugh Jackman asks for himself and Ryan Reynolds roles in 'Avengers Doomsday'
ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA: Hugh Jackman surprised everyone during the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ promotion of Marvel’s D23 showcase in Anaheim by begging for a role in the upcoming movie.
The new movie starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Paul Rudd, Pedro Pascal, and Rebecca Romijn is scheduled for a release in December 2026.
Hugh Jackman offers his and Ryan Reynolds help in 'Avengers Doomsday'
On Friday, August 14, he appeared virtually at the event while Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool heckled him from off-screen.
Without wasting any time, Jackman directly addressed Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, and said, “Hey Kevin, Hey D23, hope you all are having a great time. I just wanted to check in, totally unprompted…And uh…Just wondering if you might need some help.”
Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool calls himself and Iron Man 'the golden ones'
A bit hesitant, the 57-year-old actor continued, “Rounding out,” before being interrupted by Deadpool, who tried to push him, but Jackman told him, “Rounding out the cast? Dude, they’ve got like 28 people. Why in the hell do they need us?”
But Reynolds’ character was not easy to step back as he argued, “Because we are the golden ones. We are special.”
Jackman then appeared quite irritated as he funnily added, “So anyway, if you guys need some help rounding out a cast I’d love to join, and I don’t know, I might be able to convince to appear in Avengers Doomsday. But no pressure.”
At the end of the video, he also told Deadpool, “I hate you so much, man.”
Ryan Reynolds pitched him for 'Avengers Doomsday' at San Diego Comic-Con
This came weeks after Reynolds surprised people at Marvel’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 25, as he popped up in the audience wearing a bluish grey costume. At the time, he even asserted that he would like to get a role in ‘Avengers Doomsday’.
Also at the July event, when Downey Jr took the mic to address the attendees, the hall turned green with the actor saying, “It's not easy being green. I need a lot of help. I need this whole family around me to finally assist me in being an arch-enemy, which is daunting.”
“When y'all had faith in me two years ago, you lifted me up, and I think we made something real special. But decisions will have to be made. Perhaps you're on the side of the good guys, or perhaps you'll have to consider the alternative,” the ‘Iron Man’ star added.
