WEST VIRGINIA, UNITED STATES: A terrifying video shows the moment a violent ex-boyfriend of a well-known YouTuber shot her girlfriend in the leg in West Virginia, as well as the sound of the gunman taking his own life.
YouTuber Hunter Avallone, who is well-known for engaging in online debates with conservatives, was at his Martinsburg apartment with his girlfriend Holle Peno who is a Twitch streamer.
Peno's ex of 11 years arrived at her apartment and fired through the door, hitting Peno in the leg, the Twitch streamer shared on Instagram.
YouTuber Hunter Avallone records his girlfriend being shot
With over 500,000 subscribers, Avallone started recording as soon as Peno was shot.
He mentioned in the video that his landlord had forewarned him about a “shady” man on the property who had a gun hidden under his jacket.
The post states that Peno's ex-boyfriend, identified as Conrad in the video, shot himself to death, immediately after walking out of Avallone's apartment door.
Peno's social media accounts show that the couple had split up several weeks before the incident.
Avallone wrote, "I recorded the final moments in which we’re hiding on the back porch," next to a clip of Peno appearing shaken and bleeding.
He further wrote, “You can hear him shoot at police before ultimately taking his own life…in my own f—king apartment hallway.”
At one point in the video, Avallone looks to be speaking on the phone with the police, informing them that the suspect is hammering hard on the door and that they can hear shouting.
Then, voices can be heard yelling, “Show me your f**king hands! Show me your hands!” before the video cuts off abruptly and several gunshots are heard. “Still trying to process this. Holle and I are physically ok but mentally, this is gonna do some serious damage,” Avallone wrote.
It further wrote, “Holle has been amazing and she’s been incredibly brave and strong throughout this ordeal.”
Holle Peno shares emotional video
With almost 17,000 followers, Peno shared a tearful video to X, expressing that it felt like her soul was torn in two.
Peno sobs and says, “Every time I close my eyes, I see him lying there. I hate how that was the last time I saw him because he wasn’t all bad. He was good sometimes.”
Peno said that she was beginning to "come out of shock" in an Instagram post.
"I feel so torn up inside. I loved him for 11 years despite the abuse, and he couldn’t love me enough to let me leave,” the woman wrote.
I have to keep reminding myself that I have to get through this, if not for me, for all of you. It's hard. pic.twitter.com/uqNu1MZ0Zh

What do the cops say?
It was mentioned in a GoFundMe that another Twitch streamer created to pay for Peno's medical expenses that her ex attempted to shoot police before ending his own life. The amount raised surpassed $4,000, NewYork Post reported.
“The money will get used towards paying the hospital bills, and paying her own personal expenses from being unable to work, including the costs of therapy, travel, food, existing debt and everything she could need in the near future,” the fundraiser read.
“Now that he passed, she’s still gonna have to pay the accumulated debt that they both shared. This fund is an umbrella meant to cover as much as it can until she can get her life back on track again,” it stated.
However, the police department acknowledged the incident in a statement provided to the DailyMail, saying, "On Friday, December 8, an unidentified male arrived at the location armed with a shotgun."
The gunman fired the weapon through the building's exterior door, hitting the female victim.
“Responding immediately to the scene, Martinsburg Police officers engaged with the armed suspect as he attempted to breach an interior apartment door while continuing to fire his weapon,” the statement read.
“A brief exchange of gunfire ensued, resulting in the suspect taking his own life,” the statement further read.
