What did Donald Trump say to Michael Cohen after the FBI raid in April 2018?

Testifying in front of a Manhattan jury, Michael Cohen said he had a conversation with the then-president, who made him feel reassured about his safety.

"His Justice Department should go nowhere. And so I felt reassured and I remained in the camp," he added.

The ex-confidant of Trump shared that he heard from other people in the team that "You're loved, don't worry, he's got your back. [The] most powerful guy in the country if not the world. You're going to be okay."

When Prosecutor Susan Hoffinger questioned what he meant by in the "camp," he replied, "In the fold, in the Trump camp."

Cohen testified on Tuesday, May 14, and told the jury that it was the last time his former boss talked to him, as per CNN.

"I wanted, obviously, him to know what was taking place. And he said to me, 'Don’t worry. I’m the president of the United States. There’s nothing here. Everything’s going to be OK. Stay tough. You’re going to be OK,'" Cohen said.

"I was scared... I wanted some reassurance that Mr. Trump had my back, especially as this dealt with issues that related to him," he added.

In April 2018, the FBI team reached Cohen's room in the morning. He explained to the jury that "the search warrant gave them the right to take my two cell phones, any electronic devices as well as records."

Internet reacts to Michael Cohen's hush money testimony

Netizens mostly slammed Michael Cohen and doubted his claims. One X user said, "MAGA is a sad, sad cult. Today, Mike bent the knee. Again."

"Start trying to get people involved arrested. We can find a law somewhere to make that happen I’m sure," another wrote.

"Would love to see Michael Cohen go back to jail when this is all said and done," a third remarked.

One user felt, "Michael Cohen is not likeable at all. If the man would take a stand, be principled, and stick to his convictions, he would do so much better than all this lying and gameplay."

Another wrote, "Not a shocker that a congressman was witness tampering since the Democrat Party is behind this whole sham trial."
