Megyn Kelly defends 'saucy' Conservative Dad's Calendar featuring Riley Gaines amid backlash
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Megyn Kelly addressed the controversy surrounding the Conservative Dad's Real Women of America calendar on the January 4 episode of her SiriusXM podcast, 'The Megyn Kelly Show.'
The former Fox News prime-time personality was joined by the hosts of 'The Fifth Column' podcast - Kmele Foster, Michael Moynihan, and Matt Welch - for the discussion, where she reportedly declared, "Conservatives can be saucy!”
What is the Conservative Dad's Real Women of America controversy about?'
According to the New York Post, a pin-up calendar brought out by self-styled 'conservative dad' Seth Weathers has some groups on the right riled up as it features scantily clad women, though Kelly felt that it was much ado about nothing.
The calendar is priced at $25, and billed as one that is “featuring the most beautiful conservative women in America,” reported the publication.
Weathers made the news back in 2023 when he marketed the '100% Woke Free' Ultra Right Beer as an alternative to Anheuser-Busch's Bud Light, after the right called for the boycott of the latter following a campaign featuring trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
Who are the models featured on the Conservative Dad's Calendar?
Swimmer Riley Gaines, who has been vocal in calling for the ban on biological men who transitioned into women from participating in female sports, features on the cover of the calendar. She is pictured wearing a skimpy bikini with the words 'ULTRA RIGHT' written on it.

A host of other prominent right-wing women have been featured on the calendar. They include radio host and former NRA spokesperson Dana Loesch, internet personality and podcaster Josie Glabach, also known as 'The Redheaded Libertarian,' and influencer Sara Gonzales.
Megyn Kelly's take on the Conservative Dad's Calendar
“I gotta be honest, I couldn’t care less about people doing this," observed Kelly, adding, "I think this is great.”
Complimenting Gaines as "gorgeous," the 53-year-old said that the backlash reminded her of the reactions she had received when she posed for a provocative photo shoot with GQ Magazine back in 2010.
“I was very pregnant at the time and I was proud that I could still squeeze myself into one of these numbers,” she shared, "But I got a lot of blowback for that too. And it was all from conservatives who were like ‘That was a mistake. That’s not what conservatives stand for.'”
“Why do conservatives have to be all stuffy and like, not sexy?” she asked, voicing her disapproval.
