NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former House Judiciary Chief Counsel Julian Epstein reportedly shared his opinion on Maine’s secretary of state removing former president Donald Trump from the 2024 primary ballot on ‘The Ingraham Angle.’

Epstein called the decision to remove Trump from the ballot “terrible” and accused the left of living in an “insular bubble.”

Several YouTube users agreed with Epstein’s remarks and backed him, supporting Trump.

Julian Epstein calls Donald Trump’s removal from Maine ballot as ‘terrible decision’

The former Chief Counsel Julian Epstein recently appeared on ‘The Ingraham Angle’ and shared his views on Donald Trump’s removal from the 2024 ballot.

He told Fox News host Jason Chaffetz, “I voted for Joe Biden, I did not vote for Donald Trump either in 16 or 20. I think this is a terrible decision. I think it’s anti-democratic position and I think it shows how out of touch the professional left has gotten.”

He continued to slam left, “They live in an insular bubble. And I don’t think they realize how bad this looks across the country. From a legal point of view, there are two real problems with this attempt to bar Trump from the primary ballot.”

Epstein went on to explain the real problems adding, “The first problem is a complete lack of due process. There is absolutely no due process in making this determination. These are made mostly by political figures, professional democrats who obviously have an ax to grind.”

“Secondly, it’s very unlikely in my opinion that the Section 3 of the 14th Amendment was intended to apply to presidents, enumerated official senators, electors, officers of the United States.”

He further explained, “I think it’s unlikely that it would ever apply to a president of the United States. Further, in none of the prosecutions you have seen of president Trump, including Jack Smith’s prosecution for the January 6 matter, are they attempting to prosecute under insurrection statue.”

Epstein went on to slam Democrats adding, “Now they use back door process and I think it just looks bad. So, that is from a legal point of view. From a political point of view, what have you heard democrats talking about since really 2015 is what an incredible threat Donald Trump is to democracy and to the democratic ideals of the United States and the West.”

“And then, they go out there with this attempt to deny half the American people who will likely be supporting president Trump, and in the next election, deny the opportunity for them to choose him in the primary and it just seemed very hard for democrats to square this argument about promoting democracy, promoting sort of free choice, all of these ideals and then excluding Trump from a primary ballot.”

Epstein concluded adding, “I think this will be regarded historically as something very foolish.”
