Internet backs Laura Ingraham's disapproval of removing Confederate memorial at Arlington Cemetery
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News host Laura Ingraham recently voiced her concerns on the removal of a Confederate statue in the Arlington National Cemetery.
Despite opposition from a group of Republican lawmakers, a Confederate statue in Arlington National Cemetery is set to be removed in the coming days.
The monument, known as the Reconciliation Monument or Confederate Statue, is part of a broader effort to eliminate military installations named after the Confederacy, a response to the Black Lives Matter protests that took place during the summer of 2020.
A press release from the national cemetery states that the statue is scheduled to be removed by December 22.

Ingraham’s tweet featured an article from Fox News titled, 'Confederate Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery to be removed despite GOP opposition'.
In the article, it was reported that the Army plans to remove the controversial Confederate memorial next week.
The removal of the statue complies with the Congressional mandate to remove all Confederate memorials by January 1, 2024.
The Congressional mandate, enacted in 2020, directs the Department of Defense to eliminate all "names, symbols, displays, monuments, and paraphernalia that honor or commemorate the Confederate States of America" by January 1, 2024.
A spokesperson from Arlington National Cemetery confirmed to Fox News Digital that safety fencing has been installed around the Confederate Memorial.
This action is part of the preparations for the deconstruction of the memorial, which was originally erected in 1914.
During this process, measures will be taken to safeguard the surrounding landscape, graves, and headstones.
