PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Donald Trump has refuted rumors that he is contemplating the selection of Robert F Kennedy Jr as his running mate for the 2024 Presidential election.

The former President outright denied such speculations through a post on Truth Social, emphasizing that the former Democrat turned Independent presidential hopeful is not under consideration for the position of his next potential vice president.

While Trump has yet to disclose any significant clues regarding his choice of running mate, the shortlist reportedly includes names such as South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and New York Representative Elise Stefanik.

What did Trump say in his Truth Social post?

"He is by far the most Radical Left person running for office, maybe ever!" Trump stated, sharing on his beleaguered social media platform a Breitbart report that dismisses speculations that the nephew of former President John F Kennedy and son of former Senator Bobby Kennedy is in the race.

“Look at his environmental program, and close up the USA!" the 77-year-old GOP presidential frontrunner remarked.

During his time as a legal practitioner specializing in environmental law, Kennedy Jr made significant contributions to the cause of environmental protection.

He was a strong advocate for the prohibition of hydraulic fracturing, commonly known as fracking, and successfully litigated several legal cases against major corporate polluters.

Additionally, Kennedy Jr. played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Waterkeeper Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to safeguarding clean water resources across six continents, per a report by Newsweek.

Despite his laudable achievements in the field of environmental law, Kennedy Jr is notorious for his endorsement of vaccine conspiracy theories, including the widely refuted claim that vaccines are linked to autism.

More recently, Kennedy Jr made headlines by stating that he had been approached by members of former President Donald Trump's team to potentially serve as his running mate.

However, he has since declined the offer.

Kennedy Jr stated in a NewsNation interview, "I would not take that job. I'm flattered that President Trump would offer it to me but it's not something that I'm interested in.”

When further pressed on whether Trump's campaign had approached him about being Trump's running mate, Kennedy Jr responded, "People from the team reached out to me."

Chris LaCivita, a senior advisor to Trump's 2024 campaign, also unequivocally rejected allegations that Kennedy Jr is in contention for the Republican Party's next vice-presidential pick, as well as claims that Trump's 2024 team first approached Kennedy Jr with the proposal.

LaCivita tweeted, "This is 100% FAKE NEWS - NO ONE from the Trump Campaign ever approached RFK jr (or ever will) - one of the most LIBERAL and radical environmentalists in the country. For all the fake news- update your stories."

In a recent Fox News interview, Trump stated that there is "no rush" in selecting his running mate, although he looks to be leaning toward one option.

"The person that I think I like is a very good person, pretty standard. I think people won't be that surprised, but I would say there's probably a 25 percent chance it would be that person," Trump stated.

Back-and-forth between Trump and RFK Jr befuddles Internet

People on X expressed their concerns over RFK Jr's claims of the Trump team contacting him for a potential vice presidential spot under the presumed second Trump administration following the November general elections.

One X user remarked, "He’s a nepo-baby. Only reason anyone knows who he is."

Another said, "He’s not siphoning votes from Biden. Dems can’t stand him."

Someone else wrote, "Another nutjob stirring the pot. And let's not forget how this guy is apparently getting millions of dollars in donations and support from some of Trump's biggest donors. Because, yeah, that's definitely not suspicious at all. #RFKJrForPresident #AntiVaxxersUnite #ElectionMadness2024"

Another tweeted, "He's a republican."
