WASHINGTON, DC: Andrew Yang, a tech entrepreneur who ran for president in 2020, commented on President Joe Biden’s prospects in the upcoming election.

Yang has urged Biden to step aside before the Democratic National Convention, warning of a potential "historic loss."

Yang believes Biden's withdrawal is crucial for the country, suggesting that staying in the race could lead to significant Republican gains.

"Time is of the essence and I think he does need to drop out. I think he's heading for a historic loss," Yang told host Dan Abrams on News Nation as the DNC kicks on August 19 in Chicago.

With his cognitive abilities also in question, Biden has been adamant about staying in the race dismissing his poor performance as a 'Bad night."

Following his debate performance, Biden has not impressed some the sections of Democratic supporters as he has been making regular gaffes during his speeches.

"That is going to hand not just the White House, but also the Senate and the House to Donald Trump," Yang said, according to The Hill.

Andrew Yang suggests Joe Biden to release his delegates

Yang’s comments followed Biden’s first solo press conference of the year where Biden suggested that his pledged delegates are “free to do whatever they want” at the convention.

However, during the press conference, Biden maintained he would stay in the race. Yang, who previously stumped for Representative Dean Phillips in the 2024 race, said, "One of the fascinating things about that press conference is he essentially releases his DNC delegates and so they can do what they want."

"There's been a lot of reporting that a lot of the delegates are like the general public and like voters at large who don't think that Joe Biden can win," he said.

Internet reacts to Andrew Yang’s remarks about Joe Biden's anticipated 'historical loss'

Yang's statements have sparked significant reactions online, with many mocking his political track record.

One user commented, "Has Andrew Yang recovered from his disappointing political aspirations? Apparently, NOT!"

Another wrote, "Didn’t this man lose every election he’s been a part of? Sounds like he’s projecting his insecurities."

"Didn’t he predict he would win?" joked one. "Andrew Yang is a cry baby because he didn’t get elected," added another.

"Andrew's 'coup' against Joe Biden is flopping harder than a bad comedy show. The people have spoken: Joe's the guy. #SitDownAndrew," wrote one more.

Some users also criticized Biden, adding fuel to the debate. "The only thing lost with Biden is his senility," one user remarked.

Meanwhile, others dismissed Yang’s opinions due to his own lack of electoral success. "LoL, I'll respect his opinion when he wins something," wrote one while another commented "Lol coming from a professional loser that means nothing."
