NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On the night of May 9, Lawrence O’Donnell expressed surprise at Donald Trump’s lawyer deliberately including "orange turd" in the court record.

During the hush money trial, one of Trump's defense attorneys, Susan Necheles, was questioning Stormy Daniels, a pivotal witness from the adult film industry, when he presented a tweet in which Daniels had referred to Trump as an "orange turd."

"That’s right. That’s how Donald Trump’s day went today," remarked the MSNBC host, who seems to have been bothering Trump during the trial.

"Susan Necheles brought the orange turd into the courtroom and kept it there. The questioning about the orange turd went on and on," O'Donnell informed viewers, proceeding to read from the court transcript.

In the tweet in question, Daniels was responding to a post that read, “Michael Cohen and Stormy Daniels aka THE HUMAN TOILET are their star witnesses.”

Daniels responded, "Exactly! Making me the best person to flush the orange turd down."

During the exchange, Daniels and Necheles debated the meaning behind Daniels' statement, frequently referencing the term "orange turd."

Necheles contended that Daniels implied she would play a crucial role in Trump's legal troubles. Daniels countered by suggesting she was merely retaliating against online harassment.

"I’m pretty sure this is hyperbole. If somebody calls me a toilet, I can say flush somebody. See how that works?" Daniels explained to Necheles.

Lawrence O'Donnell critiques Susan Necheles' cross-examination

O'Donnell then proceeded to illustrate the scenario for viewers.

"Necheles repeatedly called her client, Donald Trump, the orange turd, on what she thought was an effective cross-examination of Stormy Daniels," he remarked.

"Imagine Donald Trump, sitting in that courtroom today ... being forced to listen, with eyes closed or eyes open, to one of his criminal defense lawyers, on whom he has lavished money — money provided by his political contributors — listen to her repeatedly call him, ‘the orange turd'," O'Donnell continued.

He added that the “orange turd landed an hour into a belabored cross-examination” by Necheles that was “repetitive, tedious, and almost entirely irrelevant.”

Reportedly, on May 7 Trump took aim at O'Donnell, commenting on O'Donnell's appearance at a New York City courthouse during Trump's initial criminal trial and remarking that O'Donnell looked like "shit."

Trump wrote, “I spotted Ratings Challenged Lawrence O’Donnell, of MSDNC, in the Courthouse today. I haven’t seen him in years", adding, "He looks like shit, a real loser!”

Social Media reacts with humor to Trump as 'the orange turd'

The mention of Trump as 'the orange turd' elicited a slew of funny comments on social media.

One viewer expressed, "Guaranteed the jury is laughing their rear ends off...At the prompting of Stormy, she asked Necheles to read the contents of the email where Stormy said trump was a "orange turd..." But Necheles repeated it even after done reading.."

Another viewer shared, "For the history books...."

One viewer pointed out, " and I bet the lawyer was enjoying it."

A follower observed, "......while his expensive lawyer, who probably secretly detests him got the biggest kick out of repeatedly calling him "the orange turd" out loud!"

One comment stated, "I want to know how Lawrence delivered this report and managed to keep a straight face??? I was rolling on the floor at the lunacy of any lawyer referring to his client as an 'orange turd'."

Another comment read, "Everyone, even the media Democrat activists, have been acknowledging how much of a crap show all of this has been."
