WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump has ignited a firestorm of reactions by seemingly endorsing YouTube star-turned-boxer Jake Paul's bold claim that he could easily knock out President Joe Biden in a hypothetical boxing match.

The controversial endorsement came in the form of Trump sharing a Fox News clip featuring Paul's remarks on his Truth Social account without providing any additional commentary, as per The Wrap.

Jake Paul claims Trump 'wouldn't even have to punch' Biden

During the interview with Jesse Watters on Fox News, Paul, who is gearing up for a high-profile match against boxing legend Mike Tyson, confidently asserted that Trump "wouldn't even have to punch" Biden, suggesting that the incumbent president would "just fall over from the wind."

"And Trump, if you're watching this, this is an invite. I know you used to promote Tyson, so I'd love to have you at the fight … Donny, pull up, we've got tickets for you," Paul added, extending an invitation to the former president amidst the bold remarks.

During the interview, Paul also expressed his belief that he would win the fight against Tyson. He stated, "I believe I have what it takes to beat him and I know this is the toughest test of my life, and it’s an honor to be in there with Mike. But at the end of the day, I’m going to be the one who gets my hand raised."

On Saturday, April 13, Tyson, aged 57, posted a video of his training session for the upcoming match, practicing with a partner outfitted with protective pads. "Can’t wait for this to be Jake," wrote Tyson in the caption.

Confusion remains surrounding Jake Paul-Mike Tyson clash

Paul has been firm in his stance that his upcoming match with Tyson will be a legitimate fight, rather than an exhibition match. The distinction between the two formats can involve factors such as the presence of judges, the fighters' objectives, the weight of the gloves used, and the duration of the rounds.

However, there appears to be some confusion surrounding the nature of the match. On April 2, Tyson himself stated to Sean Hannity that the event would be an exhibition.

More recently, the fight's promoter, Bryce Holden, revealed to USA Today that he has yet to file any requests with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR) regarding the match. Ultimately, it will be this regulatory body that determines whether the clash between Paul and Tyson will be sanctioned as a professional fight or an exhibition.

Internet divided over Jake Paul's claim about Trump easily beating Biden

Paul's bold claim about Trump easily beating Biden in a boxing match unleashed a wave of divided reactions across the Internet. One X user declared, "Trump would demolish Biden in about two seconds he can’t even stand."

Another user expressed skepticism, stating, "Trump wouldn’t even show up. Trump would say his bone spurs would keep him from being able to fight. And besides, adult boxing gloves are too big for his hands."

A third user weighed in on the debate, suggesting, "Biden would have more stamina, if it would more than a round he would obviously win." One individual questioned, "I know who I will be avoiding. Interesting that Biden would just fall over. Can Trump even stand with his bone spurs?"

A fifth X user remarked, "BIDEN WOULD FALL OVER BEFORE ANY PUNCH COULD BE THROWN BY TRUMP." Another user simply stated, "Truth."
