LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bill Maher took a swipe at President Joe Biden, branding him "selfish" for pursuing a second term in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

In an interview with Mediaite, the comedian expressed his belief that the Democratic Party would easily secure reelection if Biden were to step aside.

Maher stated, "If Biden drops out, they'll win. Without doubt. Biden should drop out, that's the point. He's being selfish."

Bill Maher draws an amusing parallel between President Joe Biden and Ginsburg

Maher, known for his candid commentary, compared Biden to the late Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, humorously dubbing him "Ruth Bader Biden." The comedian playfully pointed out the similarities in their refusal to let go of their respective positions.

Ginsburg, who was appointed by former President Bill Clinton, was the associate justice of SCOTUS from 1993 until her death at the age of 87 in 2020.

During the interview, the 'Real Time' host even referenced comments from political strategist James Carville, who suggested that any Democratic candidate in their 50s would have a strong chance of winning the presidency.

"You know, James Carville was here, and he said, 'Any 50-ish Democrat, it wouldn’t even be close.' So, no of course he’s not the voice of God, who knows. But that is my basic belief also. Is that it’s theirs for the taking," remarked Maher.

Maher also delved into the appeal of former President Donald Trump and his influence within the Republican Party, arguing that his supporters aren't necessarily seeking chaos but are drawn to his desire for control and power.

The comedian shared, "That’s what presidents do. I mean, he’s insane, so he wants it in a much more different way. But I don’t think that’s the source of his appeal. The source of his appeal is, um, I’ve quoted it a million times, my friend Jimmy said it, insanity photograph. Insanity photograph. It’s just, you can’t take your eyes off him."
