PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Former President Donald Trump urged special counsel Jack Smith to drop "all litigation" against him and let the country "heal," reported Raw Story.

The Republican frontrunner made the demand on his Truth Social platform on Thursday, February 8, followed by special counsel Robert Hur's report of President Joe Biden's retention of classified material.

"If Special Counsel Jack Smith wants to do good for our Country, and help to unify it, he should drop all Litigation against Joe Biden's Political Opponent, ME, and let our Country HEAL," Trump wrote.

Smith leads the investigations against Trump's alleged involvement in the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot attempting to overturn Biden's 2020 election victory and the former President's mishandling of classified documents after his presidential term.

As he closes in on the GOP presidential nomination, the ex-president recently faced a setback in his absolute presidential immunity demand defending his post-2020 election actions when a federal appeal court ruled against his claims.

Trump points at special counsel's report against Biden to drop charges

The former President pointed at special counsel Hur's report against his successor to justify his demand to drop the charges.

"This would be a far bigger and better achievement than anything he has ever done, and will be easy for the Great Patriots of our Country to understand in light of Special Counsel Robert Hur's Document Report on Joe Biden, where the evidence is overwhelming that he "willfully retained" important documents!" Trump wrote.

Hur's 388-page report, released on February 8, gained attention not for Biden withholding classified documents but for its language on the incumbent's cognitive ability. The report described Biden as an "elderly man with a poor memory."

The President's continuous struggle to remember things and confusing country heads' names had raised concerns regarding his ability to run for a second time.

Following the report, he defended his memory in a fiery press conference, stating that his "memory is fine," as per a report by The Hill.

However, Biden is leading the Democratic primary and will likely face Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

Internet reacts to Trump's demands

Netizens strongly disagreed with the former President's demand to drop the charges against him and asked him to drop out of the race.

One user wrote, "HARD PASS!"

Another remarked, "I have a solution. Drop out, take a plea deal and live your life out at MaraLago."

"Desperation!" read a third response. A fourth user labeled Trump "Delusional."

One user opined, "Someone is scared." Another added, "So, he's admitting his crimes?"

"He could just leave, flight, and never come back," read another remark. A user said, "He’s trying everything because he knows he’s done."
