WASHINGTON, DC: During a recent press conference, President Joe Biden's response to a question about the ongoing hostage negotiations between Israel and the terrorist group Hamas has caused concern among American voters.

After promoting the new border security bill in his speech, the 81-year-old US president appeared to have encountered difficulty recalling the name of Hamas, per a report by the New York Post.

This has raised questions about the incumbent president's mental acuities and his ability to handle complex foreign policy issues.

What did Joe Biden say in his press conference?

Biden, the oldest-ever POTUS was pressed on talks between Israel and Hamas for the release of hostages on Tuesday, February 6th.

“There is some movement, and I don’t wanna, I don’t wanna …,” Biden said before pausing a while with a blank stare on his face.

“Let me choose my words — there’s some movement, there’s been … a response from the, uh…,” he added, hesitating once more and casting the same confused glance forward.

“There’s been a response … from … the opposition, but, um —” he continued.

Seemingly unclear of what he was meant to say, Biden turned to his left, receiving much-needed direction.

“Yes, I’m sorry, from Hamas,” the Commander-in-Chief said after much consternation, referring to the terrorist organization that is at war with Israel, a vital US ally.

Among those unable to conceal their outrage at the footage was Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.), the presidential contender facing off against the incumbent for the Democratic nomination.

The Minnesota congressman posted on X, “I’m attacked for being honest and saying the quiet part out loud — the part DC insiders only do in private.”

“I admire our President. I voted for him and campaigned for him. He has visited my home and been gracious to my family and our country,” he added.

“But shame on all of you pretending everything is OK,” he remarked and continued, “You are leading us — and him — into a disaster, and you damn well know it.”

Internet appalled by Joe Biden fumbling in press conference

People on X expressed their concerns surrounding the oldest president in the White House and imagined possible scenarios of Biden's re-election come November if he keeps up like this.

One X user remarked, “He’s not looking good."

Another user wrote, "The world is watching and seeing."

"It’s painful to watch him try to answer questions," another user said.

One user argued, "It should not be alarming as this happens every day when this man open his mouth."

"Dementia is the real epidemic here…," another X user remarked.

A user tweeted, "SOMEBODY has to give a coherent president. The dems actually think people will be stupid enough to vote him in again?"
