MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Donald Trump has been exposed for not campaigning during his court break on Wednesday, May 15 as he previously lamented how court obligations have interfered with his campaign activities.

On Thursday, May 16, Trump critic Ron Filipkowski took to X ( formerly Twitter) to address the former president's campaign absence on his day off from court as he wrote, "On Trump’s off day from court yesterday, he did no campaigning. Again."

Donald Trump accused Judge Juan Merchan of not giving him a day off from court

On Trump's first day of trial in court on April 15, he initially petitioned Judge Juan Merchan for an adjournment during his youngest son Barron Trump's graduation.

However, the judge cited the trial's time constraints and refrained from making an immediate decision at the time.

Trump, who was furious after he learned the court schedule would prevent him from missing Barron's graduation, wrote on Truth Social, "Who will explain for me, to my wonderful son, Barron, who is a GREAT Student at a fantastic School, that his Dad will likely not be allowed to attend his Graduation Ceremony."

"Something that we have been talking about for years, because a seriously Conflicted and Corrupt New York State Judge wants me in Criminal Court on a bogus 'Biden Case' which, according to virtually all Legal Scholars and Pundits, has no merit, and should NEVER have been brought," he wrote.

However, the judge later permitted Trump to skip court for his 18-year-old son's graduation.

“I don’t think the May 17 date is a problem,” Merchan said in the courtroom on April 30.

Donald Trump schedules Minnesota campaign stop on Barron's graduation day

As MEAWW previously reported, Trump decided to add a campaign stop at the Minnesota Republican Party's annual Lincoln Reagan Dinner, which would conflict with Barron's graduation from Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach.

While the outcome of the 77-year-old politician making it to both events is uncertain, he was criticized for the clash of priorities and was accused of dishonesty.

Donald Trump criticized for not campaigning during his court break

Reacting to Trump's campaign absence during his court break, a user on X wrote, "No campaigning, but plenty of complaining."

One user tweeted, "He’s too busy seething," while another user wrote, "Campaign by mouth. That's his new plan. He still draws the biggest crowds though."

"And the show trial is doing wonders for him," a netizen commented, and another user tweeted, "He’ll have plenty of time to campaign instead of attending Barron’s graduation tomorrow."

"He only campaigns when he has a particular agenda to serve … like avoiding attendance at his kid’s grad," a user remarked.
