AOC slammed as she says Trump is rallying in Bronx because he 'has legal version of ankle bracelet'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) made headlines with her recent remarks suggesting that former President Donald Trump's planned rally in the Bronx is due to a "legal version of an ankle bracelet."
Ocasio-Cortez criticized Trump's decision to hold the rally in the Bronx, her birthplace and part of her congressional district, attributing it to his financial troubles and ongoing hush money trial.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's sting stance on Donald Trump's legal woes
"Donald Trump is broke. He needs money. He’s hosting a rally to try to con people and try to fleece them out of every dollar that they have to fund his own legal fees," Ocasio-Cortez asserted.
"And by the way, he’s doing it in the South Bronx, not to make a point, but because he’s got court and the man practically has the legal version of an ankle bracelet around him, and he can’t leave the five boroughs because he always has to be in court. And so it is truly an embarrassment to him."

Donald Trump's historic hush money trail
Trump is accused of falsifying business records to cover up hush payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential election. The trial, notable for being the first criminal case against a former US president, is nearing its conclusion, with closing statements expected next week.
Trump faces 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to reimbursements to Cohen for a hush-money payment to an adult film star, which was allegedly recorded as legal expenses. He has pleaded not guilty.
The former president's trial has restricted his ability to campaign, with court sessions typically held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. While Trump is not legally obligated to remain in New York City, his courtroom commitments have limited his campaign activities.
In response to Ocasio-Cortez's comments, Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for Trump’s campaign, dismissed her remarks, stating, "Ocasio-Cortez should have learned her lesson after getting wrecked at the House Oversight Committee hearing, but she never says anything remotely intelligent."
