MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Michael Cohen, former lawyer for Donald Trump, launched a fresh attack on the former President's current primary lawyer Todd Blanche.

Cohen again branded Blanche as the "stupidest lawyer of all time (SLOAT)" and blamed him for botching Trump's defense, leading to 34 felony convictions.

Cohen watched a clip of Blanche in which he explains his plans for appealing the verdict and attacking Cohen's credibility as a witness.

"You know I have a name for Todd, it's called 'SLOAT —stupidest lawyer of all time.'" Cohen said.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump with attorney Todd Blanche speaks to the media during his trial for allegedly covering up hush money payments at Manhattan Criminal Court on May 21, 2024 in New York City. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, which prosecutors say was an effort to hide a potential sex scandal, both before and after the 2016 presidential election. "Let me be very clear Todd, because I'm sure he's watching like everyone else. He's the stupidest lawyer of all time," Cohen continued, according to Raw Story.

"Why? You don't make the defense of a case like this 'Let's discredit one of the witnesses, let's discredit the narrator of the story.' There are 19 other people that were called by the district attorney, by prosecutors ... 19 people testified which all corroborated, again, the narrative of my story," Cohen said.

"What I had been saying again for six years, corroborated by 19 independent people, some of whom still work for Trump and remain loyal to him," he added.

Michael Cohen says Donald Trump is the one calling the shots

Cohen suggested that Trump's tendency to control his defense strategies was evident.

"Guaranteed it was Donald Trump calling the shots. I saw him do it 2007 when I started working for him," Cohen said on the station.

"He calls the shots, it's the wrong thing to do, you don't allow your client dictate to you the terms of your defense especially when you're talking about something as serious as this case," he added.

Cohen further stressed on his point by adding, "It is again stupid, which is why I called him the SLOAT."

Internet reacts to Michael Cohen's comments about Donald Trump and Todd Blanche

Cohen's comments stirred reactions from Internet users with some users mocking him.

One user wrote on X, "Blanche was so good he got Cohen to admit he actually stole from Trump."

Another user trolled, "Now that's hysterical. The disbarred and disgraced lawyer that was never a trial attorney who has been convicted of all kinds of crimes including perjury offers his opinion of a Trial attorney? Sheesh, guess we better believe him, huh?"

Others criticized Cohen for speaking out with one user stating, "Stupid is as stupid does tell him what to do" while another added "Why is he talking right now? The trial isn't over. This part of him I don't like. Can't keep his mouth shut."

Another comment read, "Cohen is getting too much air time. Was a scumbag & seems to have corrected his ways, but still too much seeing that he isn’t a victim."
