Donald Trump's Truth Social post

"Kangaroo court! A corrupt and conflicted judge. Reliance on counsel (Advise of counsel) not allowed by Merchant, a first," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

"His rulings, on a case that should, according to all legal scholars and experts, never have been brought, have made this a Biden pushed witch hunt. There was no crime, except for the bum that got caught stealing from me! In God we trust!" he wrote.

What are the charges against Donald Trump?

Trump is charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records at his company in connection with an alleged scheme to hide potentially embarrassing stories about him during his 2016 Republican presidential election campaign.

The felony accusation stems from payments made to Michael Cohen, the former attorney for Trump, after Cohen gave porn star Stormy Daniels $130,000 in hush money to end her claims that she had an extramarital affair with him in 2006. Trump is charged with fabricating Cohen's reimbursements as legal expenses in order to conceal the fact that they were connected to a payment of hush money.

Trump has pleaded not guilty and contends the payments made to Cohen were for legitimate legal services. Jurors must conclude beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump fabricated information or ordered false entry into business records with the intent to deceive as well as to commit or conceal another crime in order to find him guilty.

According to the law, they have to clear Trump if they conclude that the prosecution has not proven either or both of those elements. Prosecutors allege Trump falsified business records to hide breaches of campaign finance law and a violation of a state election law alleging a conspiracy to promote or prevent an election.

Internet says Donald Trump is 'scared'

Donald Trump's latest Truth Social rant triggered mixed responses from netizens. One X user tweeted, "This corrupt judge and DA should be disbarred! If you need 5 for your closing arguments you have no case! For the judge to allow accusations to be made that were never mentioned In the case is beyond dirty, disgusting and corrupt!"

Another wrote, "He will be guilty." "May you win all your cases," wished one user while one added, "Man, this whole situation is wild. Social media is just blowing up with opinions from both sides. It's crazy how much influence these platforms have on public perception." "He's scared and he should be," wrote one.

"Trump could have testified, but he'd rather post on social media where he can lie his face off with no consequences, " another added.
