WASHINGTON, DC: Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic leader of the House, referred to former President Donald Trump as a "imposter" during an interview on Thursday, June 13, and requested that someone organize a "intervention" on his behalf.

"He knows he's wacky," Pelosi told MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell. "He knows he's an imposter." "But I do wish there would be an intervention from his family, assuming they love him beyond the resources … that they would intervene," she said, adding that she also hoped that the "Republican Party would have an intervention."

Donald Trump took part in a series of meetings with Republicans

On Thursday, June 13, Trump participated in a series of meetings with Republicans to discuss a range of topics, including his legal challenges and abortion. A debate about eliminating tip taxes on servers was also suggested, according to a number of Republican senators. This underscores the former president's efforts to concentrate on the economy prior to the election in November.

Trump is holding these meetings shortly before the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and is still actively campaigning for reelection.

Judge Juan Merchan scheduled Trump's criminal trial to begin on April 15, which would make it the first criminal prosecution of a former American president. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, which prosecutors say was an effort to hide a potential sex scandal, both before and after the 2016 election. Nancy Pelosi also took a dig at Donald Trump's recent meetings

"They have become a cult to a thug," she said about the visit, adding "And that is really a tragedy." Pelosi described Trump's meetings as a trip back "to the crime scene." She brought up the riot at the Capitol on January 6 several times. "We cannot let this be whitewashed," Pelosi said during the MSNBC interview.

Donald Trump blamed Nancy Pelosi for the January 6 riots

In an interview from 2023, Trump stated that the former speaker "is responsible for January 6."

"Nancy Pelosi was in charge of security. She turned down 10,000 soldiers," he told NBC’s 'Meet the Press' host Kristen Welker at his Bedminster, New Jersey, golf club at the time. "If she didn’t turn down the soldiers, you wouldn’t have had Jan. 6," he added.

Nancy Pelosi called the former president 'a master of projection'

During her MSNBC interview, Pelosi called the former president "a master of projection."

"Everything he says about somebody else, whether it's a judge in the courtroom, a witness, a juror, a member of Congress, a woman, an opponent in an election — everything he says is a projection of his own shortcomings," she said, according to Fox News

Nancy Pelosi's daughter Christine recently called out Donald Trump for 'deranged obsession' with her mother

The daughter of former California speaker Nancy Pelosi, Christine Pelosi, attacked former President Donald Trump for what she called his "deranged obsession" with her mother.

Christine Pelosi responded to remarks that President Trump had allegedly made in the morning at a meeting with members of the House Republican Caucus. “His deceitful, deranged obsession with our mother is yet another reason Donald Trump is unwell, unhinged, and unfit to step foot anywhere near her — or the White House,” Christine Pelosi wrote on the social platform X.

Christine Pelosi's response was prompted by reported comments from Trump who, during his meeting with House Republicans, allegedly said, “Nancy Pelosi’s daughter is a whacko."

"Her daughter told me if things were different Nancy and I would be perfect together, there’s an age difference though," this quote was tweeted by Punchbowl’s Jake Sherman who noted that the comment was “close to an exact quote.”

Internet mocks Nancy Pelosi for calling Donald Trump an 'imposter'

Netizens lambasted Pelosi for lashing out at Trump on national television. One X user tweeted, "If only Democrats had a mirror..." Another wrote, "It quite amusing to watch Pelosi's growing panic. The many transgressions will soon be publicly exposed. Have fun Nancy!"

"Dems have come a long way since calling us 'deplorables'. Now we’re in cults, extremists, racists, blah blah blah…" added one while another said, "They prefer butt kissing over personal ethics and integrity." "This woman is evil beyond the pale," opined one and another echoed, "That is so funny. It’s Biden’s family who should stage an intervention and get him to retire."
