WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA: Conservative activist Scott Presler was caught on camera at a recent Donald Trump rally in North Carolina, actively seeking support for independent presidential candidate Cornel West.

Presler's brazen admission that his goal was to "take away votes from Joe Biden" by getting the "leftist Marxist" West on the state's ballot has ignited a firestorm of criticism, with many accusing Trump supporters of resorting to shady tactics to sway the upcoming election in their favor.

Scott Presler campaigned for Cornel West's inclusion on North Carolina's election ballot

Presler, a co-founder of Gays for Trump, sported a Black "free thinker" T-shirt as he energetically interacted with Trump supporters during the rally. His motive was to gather signatures from attendees to endorse West, a distinguished philosopher and Princeton University Professor Emeritus, for inclusion on North Carolina's election ballot.

According to Presler, "This takes away votes from Joe Biden. If we get [West] on the ballot, it could take a percentage point away from Joseph Biden."

West has already secured a spot on the November ballot in four states: Oregon, South Carolina, Utah, and Alaska. Earlier in April, he announced Melina Abdullah, one of the co-founders of the Black Lives Matter movement, to be his running mate.

For an independent candidate like West to make it onto North Carolina's general election ballot, at least 83,188 signatures are required, representing two percent of the total votes cast for governor in the previous election.

Lara Trump expressed interest in recruiting Scott Presler for the RNC's 'legal ballot harvesting division'

Presler's political activities extended beyond the rally. He also visited the Showmasters Gun Show in Chantilly, Virginia, where he promoted voter registration among attendees.

Stressing the importance, the conservative activist insisted, "We must register voters at every gun show in America."

This isn't the first time Presler has made headlines. In March, Lara Trump, the Republican National Committee (RNC) co-chair, expressed interest in recruiting him for its "legal ballot harvesting division" due to his extensive voter registration efforts, as per NBC News.

Despite initial reports of potential employment, an RNC spokesperson clarified that while Presler would remain an influential figure within the party, he would not be directly hired by the RNC, as he continues to focus on his nonprofit initiatives.

Internet slams Trump supporters for resorting to shady tactics to secure votes for the 2024 election

One remarked, "When your candidate sucks, you must degrade yourself I guess!" Another echoed, "It’s hilarious that they all know Trump can’t win on the merits."

A person observed, "They are all coming to grips with the fact that they cannot beat Biden in a fair election, so they attempt to do exactly the thing they have been crying about for 4 years."

"Clearly @realDonaldTrump could never win without cheating," remarked someone else, while an individual added, "That's the only way they can win by cheating!"

One more declared, "You would think they would just win with all their great policies. That Noone can actually name though."

"Desperate. the campaign is seeking traps not getting the best candidate for the job," expressed another person.
