LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK: During her brief visit to the wake of fallen NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller on Friday, March 29, Governor Kathy Hochul was captured on camera being confronted by an emotional mourner, with onlookers applauding as she left, according to the New York Post.

In the clip, an unnamed man wearing a black suit was seen making strong gestures as he addressed the Democratic legislator. Soon after, an expressionless Hochul made her way to her car.

Around 1.45 pm on the second day of viewing, Hochul visited the Massapequa Funeral Home on Long Island. She had inquired with the NYPD, the NYPD Police Benevolent Association, and the Nassau County Police Benevolent Association about attending the wake.

One witness told the New York Post that Hochul had an "animated" chat with Stephanie, Diller's 29-year-old widow, during the emotional event. They noted, "[It looked] like she was telling [Hochul] off. It didn’t look like the widow had a kind word to say," and mentioned that the Governor left after that.

However, a second source claimed to have witnessed the governor and the distraught family having a "short, respectful conversation." They told the New York Post that she went inside for "10 to 15 minutes," after saying hello to the family members.

Ahead of the New York Governor, on the first day of viewing, former President Donald Trump spent around 40 minutes paying his respects and even spoke to Diller's widow. He expressed, "The Diller family will never be the same – you can never be the same, and we have to stop it. We have to get back to law and order," as per Fox5

NYPD Officer Diller, 31, was apparently shot and killed by Guy Rivera on March 25 during a traffic stop in Far Rockaway, Queens.

One wrote, "Kathy Hochul got what she deserved. Just a prelude to November 5th," while another added, "Exactly. She deserves condemnation for her endangerment of law-abiding New Yorkers."

"Our officers and other conservatives in New York have had enough," expressed a person and someone else shared, "She deserved to be kicked out of the event."

An individual remarked, "They should have arrested her for trespassing. Can’t believe she thought she would be welcomed," while one more stated, "I tried to feel some sympathy for her in this situation and I tried, and tried some more but alas, I could not muster a drop."
