'Lock him up': Alvin Bragg slammed after he collected $850K in campaign donations after Trump indictment
WASHINGTON, DC: After indicting former president Donald Trump in March 2023, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg received $850,000 in donations, according to records, with influential Democrats and unions on the Left backing the prosecution with their wallets, the New York Post reported.
Notably, Bragg's reelection campaign earned $481,203 in donations from July 12, 2023, to January 12, 2024, during the most recent campaign disclosure period. This amount is $100,000 higher than the $374,785 raised over the last six months.

According to the outlet, $1,000 was donated by the political action committee of state Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, a Democrat from the Bronx who has come under fire for supporting lax criminal laws like the cashless bail law.
Moreover, Democratic-allied unions also poured money into Bragg's campaign. According to campaign records filed with the state Board of Elections, contributions from these unions included $15,000 from the New York Hotel Trades Council, $5,000 from the United Federation of Teachers and Local 32BJ, which represents building workers, $2,500 from the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, and $1,500 from the NYS Nurses Association.
The Democratic incumbent is running for reelection in 2025. His campaign purse showed a cash balance of $833,819, an amount that Newsweek first revealed on Monday, April 15.
Notably, the majority of Bragg's funding came from citizens of New York, namely wealthy Manhattan and Brooklyn contributors. Mega-donor to the Democratic Party In September 2023, Lisa Minsky-Primus, a philanthropist and doctor from New York, sent $25,000 to his campaign through her organization, which aims to "protect democracy".
Furthermore, rich financiers were another area where Bragg excelled. According to records, investment banker Ronald Blaylock, founder of GenNx360 Capital Partners, contributed $10,000 to the DA's reelection campaign, while chairman of One Equity Partners, the private equity investment division of JP Morgan Chase, contributed $25,000.
