MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Nancy Mace engaged in an interesting exchange with late-night host Bill Maher regarding her increasing alignment with former President Donald Trump as she addressed talks of her being a potential vice president pick.

The South Carolina Rep appeared on the 'Real Time with Bill Maher Overtime' panel alongside Democratic Rep Ro Khanna (D-Calif) and former US Attorney General Eric Holder.

During their conversation, Mace explained her stance on supporting Trump's run for a second term, stating, "We’ve had three years of Biden." In return, Maher exclaimed, "That bad huh?" to which South Carolina Rep said, "It’s been that bad," as per the New York Post

The late-night host also playfully teased Mace about the prospect of being former President Trump's running mate

Maher asked, "And as vice president what would you say?" and the Republican Rep answered, "I am not. I am not going... In your dreams... In your dreams."

The late-night host inquired, "You wouldn’t turn it down?"

Mace responded by highlighting the significance of such an opportunity, "Nobody would turn that down. You’re a heartbeat away. And it’s for your country. It’s service for your country."

Maher then lightly criticized Mace for her vote to certify the 2020 presidential election, a decision that former President Trump has persistently claimed was fraudulent.

"If you were the vice president on January 6th, would you have done what Mike Pence did that made Trump so angry?" asked the late-night host.

The South Carolina Rep remarked, "I certified the Electoral College in every single state. I mean, that was the right thing to do, the constitutional thing to do. And I would do it again, 100 percent. 100 percent."
